me-SAMI-Jason(Blue '85 4runner), MRJ Mike and Julene Judd of Summit Machine(red TJ), Mikey from Summit(forgot screen name)(black bobbed toyota pickup), stripeshirtman Paul(multi-colored '84 Toyota), timpanogas Tim(in son's TJ), Joe(rode with Robbie), SUPERFLY Robbie(John Deere edition '85 4runner), Pkrfktr(silver Unlimited Rubicon), ALF(won the U4 raffle Jeep that should've been mine), and some others that i'm sure i'm forgeting... met up to run the snakes yesterday.

rattlesnake was not as hard as it used to be in my samurai, go figure... we moved quickly through it and made our way to Wayne's World and Constrictor. Robbie was first up on WW, and gave it hell. he got up to the first step and fought hard for traction, finally his tires hooked up, with the smell of rubber and oil burning...

next up.. me. i had a line far right, that with lots of throttle got me up the first ledge. after that it was more fight for traction. those rock faces are so smooth, and hard to find traction on. within the first minute or two of making up that first big step was where i planted the rear driver's corner into a rock... guess i'll be rhino lining abit sooner than i anticipated. ;) i finally got into a position that by turning passenger and full throttle in 2nd with both cases in, got me up and out of WW... :D bring it on Brett....

Mikey gave WW a good attempt but couldn't quite pull it off due to a lack of lower gearing, and a possible faulty front e-locker??

i think Pkrfctr tried it as well, and for some reaon i cannot remember if he made it up...

Constrictor was fun, though a bit nerve racking for me... a cute mall cruising, full bodied rig like mine, virgin to this type of terrain.. and a rusty driver:ugh: ... but i got out alive, and drove home under my own power.

Robbie got high-centered on a rock the size of a VWbug... had to impliment scary Hi-lift operations, and a friendly push from Mikey's stinger.. hence the 'toyota's making baby' comments in other threads... mikey's stinger was an inch or less from hooking under the upper rear tube of the exo cage just over the tailgate on robbie 4runner... a toyota 8x8 that could pivot in the middle... cool...

i got intensly hung up just before the eagles nest(same spot robbie grinds his slider on two wheels)... abit frustrating but i finally got up and over... then we winched out over the eagles nest, and headed to Arctic Circle.. the official eatery of MountainYoats.. ;)

check out video of Robbie's 2 wheelie ---> HERE!!

i had a blast... that was by far the hardest trail i've ever driven. i plan on hitting it up again once i get my new bumpers done.. and i'll run it with no top next time too.

-Jason

Looks like you all had a good time. I wish my Jeep was done before it snows.

One little thing it think is weird. Why does everyone I see go to the right of this rock, instead of the old way over the two that are now only 4 tall due to no one digging it out. Just want to know, i use to love the rocks to the left. I saw someone had put a bunch of rocks on the right to force people to go left.

i drove over it with my rear tire... it's just so inviting... look at it.. robbie obviously took it with both tires and clearly paid for it...

Im really suprised that thing has not been moved yet. did someone bolt it down?

I may have to hike up and remove the rocks that filled in the old obsticle, then you will like it.

It was really good to meet everyone. We waited for the birthday boy (MRJ) for some time, giving us a chance to get know each other a bit. It was a gorgeous day on a very fun run, which separated the boys from the men (where did that birth day boy go anyway?).

Sure makes one wish their rig was ready! I’m looking forward to hooking up with you guys again in the future

Looks like everyone had a great day, one day I will have to make a trip up to that part of the state and check these trails out for myself.

Envision a male dog wrapped around some poor visitors leg. Sami is out in front of SuperFly’s yota, which has found some great interest in trying to procreate with this big rock. Everyone else is lined up behind one embarrassed yota owner. Now “Radiator rapids”, that’s perfect, did not know the name … we are all down trying to get the yota off the rock, with Sami just barely in view, up their … swimming in the rapids! Well if you have ever done any white water river running, there is this feature called a hole, or maytag, yes, Sami is trying to swim through the maytag, bad choice to do alone. He’s not getting out of it

So we are some time contemplating the horny yota, occasionally distracted by the banging/crushing/gouging/scratching types of noises that only radiator rapids can do to ones undercarriage coming from up the trail.

He must have thrashed up there for a good 30 minutes while we got superfly back on his way. He looked just like a drowned rat by the time we got up their. So, superfly, being the bright observer that he is, says, I’m not swimming that maytag! So off hard left he goes, petal to the metal, in a two wheel by-pass of the rapids.

The rubi … gave the hole a try, then swam right around a mid-left line. The rest, in fear of drowning, turned around. This obstacle is a real sleeper, not looking all that bad, but really sucking you in (true definition of a maytag/hole). Definitely the crux obstacle of constrictor.

The nest, of course winch, but actually easy, and just fun.

That rock is polished to the point that you can not stand on it when it is wet.
