Whats going on everyone?!! My parents are going to be here for two weeks starting June 11th and I am looking for things to do with them during the day. Shane works all day and we live in magna. I was wondering if you all had any ideas on what I could do with two people in thier 50s ( though they act like they are 20) and a 15 month old? I have not been around in utah for that long so I am counting on everyone here to think for me!! HOLLER!!! hahaha.

P.S. dont mention golfing since that is what my dad and I are already planning on doing a lot during his stay here.

Well, there is the standard touron stuff....GSL, This is the place, temple square, zoo, etc....You are already halfway to Wendover:p
A day in Park City is always fun, drive up to Cascade springs and back home via Utah County. Do they have any interest in motorsports? See what is going on at Miller Motorsports park. IKEA will kill half a day. Lunch on the patio of Ruths up Emmigration canyon. Hike in Millcreek, Big or Little cottonwood canyons.
Get a sitter and come visit us at the bar;)
Still thinking....

Yea, Red Butte is cool....check the concert series and see if they will be here during a concert. We go to them all, could save you a spot on the grass. Very kid freindly concerts too.

People in their 50s???? Hahaha, you make it sound like we need wheel chairs.

All the above. Sundance is a great drive, and you could do the whole Alpine loop starting in AF canyon. If you stop for a meal The Grill is cheaper than the Restaurant. If they feel like a hike, Timp cave is always a cool afternoon.

You get there via the alpine loop. Both could be done in a day.

Yep, take the Cabella's exit and keep heading east into American Fork Canyon. The hike up to the caves is somewhat steep, but if they're in any kind of shape it shouldn't be a problem.

Once through with the cave, just continue up over the Alpine Loop. You go past the turn off to Tibble Fork Res (i.e. Mineral Basin, Pittsburg Lake) and continue up. It goes to the back side if Timp. There is a turn off by the summit to Cascade Springs. If you stay on the loop it'll drop you down past Sundance into Provo Canyon. Nice drive and as many detours as you want.

Where are your parents from? That may help to decide what they would want to see.

Try to look for things that are unique about Utah, or are things that they cannot see or do at home. The Great Salt Lake, temple square, and the copper mine are all unique to Utah. I second the trip up to Kennecott. It is a pretty impressive hole in the ground, with an interesting museum. You just might catch a big explosion too. A trip up Big Cottonwood Canyon, over Guardsmans pass (I assume its open by now), and into Park City for lunch and shopping could be cool, if your parents are so inclined.

I'll second Timp Cave. Go morningish though, the hike can get hot in the afternoon. The youngin could be a handfull though, there are many tight places and you need to not touch the formations.

The Alpine Loop is cool, about midway you can turn and go to Cascade Springs. From there you can go back and complete the loop, or you can take a dirt road to Midway.

wow thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will definently be doing a lot of that since they are sight seeing people. We are not a mormon family so visiting the temples would not be a good idea, but thank you for the suggestion to do that :)
I definently want to do the cave hike, maybe on the weekend and go up sundance too. Kennecott mine would be awesome since we are like 10 minutes away from it. :) Thanks again for all the suggestions. YOU ALL ROCK MY WORLD!!!! hahaha
