I was talking to my cousin about these, cuz I guess he has/had a chance to get on one of these things, and try them out, and he was saying you would be suprised at what they will do!! He said they have tons of power, and even in deep powder, if you start to sink or something give it a bit more throttle, and you come right out! What he was saying, is it is basically just like riding your bike, in snow. He said basically you gotta try it, to believe it.

HOWEVER, he did say that he probably wouldnt put that on his nice YZ450F, because everything would get PACKED with snow, and would eventually start rusting up and causing damage. He was saying what he would do, is find an older bike, that he wouldnt be too worried about, and put it on there.

IMO, DONT spend the money on one of the conversions, until you get out there and try one out. My dad used to be really big into snowmobiling, and he is really ify on one of these.

That things looks like it needs a CR500 or something pissed off in the LARGE 2 stroke range to keep it moving...though the low end grunt of a thumper 4 stroke might also work well to get that thing planing out properly. I'm off to youtube to look for videos.

I don't like the idea of how the track is designed. I would think you would want a better angle to push the snow under the track, while that may be fun on hard pack snow, it would suck in anything deeper than say 6 inches.

Here are the Snow Hawk snowmobiles not quite as versatile as a conversion hit because it is a dedicated sled but the same concept I think I am going to have an opportunity to try one out this year!

We were watching a couple of them play up at the Fairview shootout last year. They looked like they would be a lot of fun to play around on but would go nowhere near where a snowmobile could as far as powder and hill climbing. They would sure fly thru the bumps though.
