Thinking about building a kdx/125 hybrid

Man you've got me thinking now I love the 3rd gen Honda chassis, and I REALLY like the KTM 300-380 motors, but hate the chassis they came in.... Honda 3rd gen chassis, WP 50mm Extremes and a big bore EXC motor ugh :chris:

You should post up the highlights of your build. It looks like we have to sign on to the forum to view pics :-\

I didn't know you had to be a member over on KDXrider. Bummer. I'll post highlights here.

I sprained my wrist riding last night, so that means less ride time this weekend, and more wrenching time on this build. I'm excited.

Well, I'm committed now. I've stripped the CR125 right down to the frame. Now I'm off to attack the KDX. I'll upload the pictures tomorrow.

well, I got a ton done today, but not as much as I had hoped. My adjustable reamer that I borrowed from a friend was too big, so untill I find a 17mm reamer, I won't be able to progress.

I got the engines out of both bikes, and the frame of the CR125 is completely stripped.

Next up: ream the engine cases to 17mm, install rear swingarm bolt through frame, bushings, and engine. Then I'll need to mock up some front motor mounts and get Mike to weld them in for me. Tehen the motor will be in the frame, and it slowly goes back together with lots of little frustrations.
