thinking about how to finish the basement

we are finaly settled in the new house. and i am trying to figure out what to do with the basement. i have a couple of ideas but i thought i would post it up here to see if anyone had any good ideas on how to finish it.

i worked with a guy who had one of these in his basement. he had a long coridood (about 4ft x 4ft) that ran under his back yard. in the back yard he had a shed with a stair case that would let you in at the other end.

sounds like overkill to me. i would rather sit on the back porch and shoot the birds and the neighbors satalite dishes.

this is kind of what i was thinking, but that is because i cant picture it any other way. and i am not particularly fond of this design.

My buddy's Grandpa had one in his basement. We had a LOT of fun down there. Could shoot up to 45's in it. Cool part was in looked like a closet, open the door and there it was....

Seriously though, my vote is a big family room/theater/wet bar all together, through a pool table in there too.

What ever you do PLAN AHEAD! I just did a remodel on my upstairs and I already am saying I "should have". for instance now wish I would have wired the house for a surround sound while the walls were torn apart, now I have to fish wires down walls Just plan ahead for phone lines, outlets, cable wire, cat 5, ect. It will save time down the road....my .02 cents
