So if you roll or damage one of these rentals you pay for it? Isnt there insurance that you can get to cover your butt? I have never done a rental down there so i wouldnt know?

both times I rented Jeeps in Moab, they got my insurance policy number and as far as I know added it to my policy for the weekend, didnt see any change in my premium, but I was nervous to have something happen and then have my premiums go up. so as far as small dings and nicks you wouldnt want to have a claim, especially if you have a high deductible.

I believe when you rent one, you are at risk of having to file a claim on YOUR insurance and haveing to pay the deductible and possible premium hike, and the rental shop is at risk of having you tear up a Jeep and having it tied up for repairs instead of being rented out making money. I could be wrong.

This thread still makes no sense. So you're saying that jeeps are a dime a dozen? :D Seriously, rent a jeep for $150 or buy one for $XX,XXX. Seems like a no brainer for a weekend trip...buy a jeep! :p

maybe he meant that there are enough jeeps for sale in Moab, that you could take one for a test drive on Moab Rim, or Hells revenge instead of renting one.
