I have never purchased from a ticket scalper. If I show up at the jazz game and buy from them would I expect to get tickets for more or less than the face value? I am sure there is a risk of getting a counterfeit ticket, but is that really an issue?

Never really heard of counterfeit tickets around hear....
Prices depend on the game and seats....I have got them for less then face value on games that were not sold out and had already started....Popular/sellout games, expect double or more the face value....Price goes up as you get closer to the floor.
Prices go down, the longer after start time....better to sell them for something, then to get nothing.

We bought alot of scalped tickets last year for the Jazz playoff games. We paid quite a bit more. We never had a problem with scalpers selling bogus tickets either, maybe we were just lucky. We found alot of people to buy tickets from on Craigslist.
