How does a person dispose of some old tires? Is there somewhere you can take them? Is there a fee? What is the proper process?

I know the landfill down in springville takes the so I would think ones up in Salt lake would. They charge $0.50 a peice, atleast thats what they charged me about 5 years ago. Most tire shops will take them also but they are a couple of bucks for each tire

Most tire shops will take them, I go to the Big-0 here in Sandy and they take them all the time, even pull them off the rim. Sometimes they have me pack a few bucks, other times they just say "see you next time". Good dudes there.

I called the Les Schwab guys in Sandy since they are clsoe and they said to just bring them by anytime. There would be a fee if they needed to take them off rims, but other than that just drop them by sometime.

Well the answer was to take them to Les Schwab. :D I thaught there were about 25-30 tires total, ends up I had about 60 tires. I drove to Les Schwab to make sure they were still ok with that many tires (I told them 30 before). I pulled up and some guy in the shop RAN to meet me at my car. He was very polite to invite me inside the store while he got his manager (who was busy busting tires, but stopped to meet me), and the manager was cool with that and told me that if I needed help unloading just to ask any employee to assist.

Very cool customer service... way more than I expected from a tire stire for sure!!

So I unloaded the tires, and told them thanks. They made that very easy. I will go back to see them for sure. Very cool store, very top notch service.

It took awhile to get that many... It is good to have them gone. Dad has an old tire busting machine. With 4 boys, and years of "do it yourself" work on the cars they seemed to add up fast.
