I am having a hard time finding the right tire for my truck and need some help on a few brands I have found. I want to know what brand I should go with? And why? Witch one is best?

1st - Maxxis MT-754 Buckshot Mudder
http://www.maxxis.com/products/automotive/product_detail.asp?id=5476

2nd - Dunlop Radial Mud Rover
http://www.dunloptires.com/dunlop/display_tire.jsp?prodline=Radial+Mud+Rover&mrktarea=Light+Truck

3rd - Pro Comp Mud Terrain 2ply
http://www.procomptires.com/mudterrain.html

4th - Mud Terrain Radial SXT
http://www.lesschwab.com/tires/light_truck/sxt_mt.asp

I like the looks of 1-3 the most and 4th would be my last choice. But I want to know how they perform. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks
Alan

I ran the Dunlop Mudder. It was ok, but didn't seem very sticky on the rocks. I don't think I'd buy them again.

Why not an MTR, I absolutely love mine!

What size are you looking for? What purpose? How much off-road vs. road? I ran the ProComp tire for a while. They were okay. You should also consider the Maxxis Bighorn. http://www.maxxis.com/products/automotive/product_detail.asp?id=5477 They're a very high quality mud terrain type tire that you can get for a very good price.

The size I am looking for is a 32X11.05R15. Purpose would be for winter driving and off road mud durring winter. About 60% on road and 40% off.

what size vehicle are you putting them on?? I had the pro craps on my expedition and they didn't last all that long... they are very soft and wear out too fast on heavy vehicles... I currently have the dunlop on my cj7 and they seem to be an ok tire even though I have very little time on them... can't tell you how they do in the snow or even mud yet...

I have always like the BFG ATs. ran them on my truck and Jeep. worked great in all. They did load up with mud alittle but a burp of the skinny peddle cleaned them right out.

u mite consider running the Big-O XT's, i run them on my tj and luv them

2x:greg: I run these on my TJs and they are great plus the road hazard includes any and all damage from wheeling too. They go up to 35" ( which I have) and they are also a good DD tire.

Wow, Big-O's web site really brings the suck.

It's easy to find technical data on the Maxxis and BFG sites, like actual tire diameter, tread depth, sidewall ply, stuff like that. I can't even find size or model info on Big-O's site. It's easy to find the nearest store though...

I found this, at least it shows the sizes available. Still no tech data though.

Will I will pass on the big-o tires. They may be good and all but I don't support Big-o in any way at all from some very bad experiences with them. And plus it has to be a tire I can order at Les Schwab. I don't have the cash to buy tires but I have credit to get them at Les Schwab.:-\

That is a big He!! no on the BFG AT's I have them on my truck now and they suck in snow and mud. They are good for just road but suck a$$ at off road.

What's your price range? You can go with some cheaper Wild cat MTs or up to something like a Toyo (not sure if thety make a 32"). The BFG MT is always a good choice. Also Cooper STTs and Muckey Thompsons MTZs are nice.

Will I think I am going to go with the bighorns. They seem like a good tire. Dose $178.33 a tire seem right or is that high?

Cooper stt's are at a good price and they have been a great on and off road tire. They wear on the heavier vehicles though. If you have a light jeep they last forever.
