I'm just putting toy axles under my samurai and want to put bigger tires on it when finished but i'm not sure about putting 35's on it with the wheelbase as short as it is. it is longer then stock it's right around 86-87". will i have a problem with 35's or should i just get some 33's? Just looking for opinions?

What kind of problems are you thinking about? With the extra width, you should be nice and stable. Stock birfields should hold up fine under such a light rig...unless you've got a different motor or you drive like.....most people on this board. You could always throw in some super birfs and bullet-proof it. As far as stability, I wouldn't hesitate to run the bigger tires.

I would say go 33's unless you already geared the axles, and the 35's are a lot for the 1.3 to handle :p

well i have the 6.5 t-case and the toy axles have the 4.10 gears so i'm not worried about the gearing. I'm using an 86 toyota axle so it's 3" wider and i'm going to use spacers int eh fornt to even it out. but i'm just thinking that i mit not be long enough and flip backwards maybe? I don't know? Maybe it's a dumb questions.

you're no more likely to flip backwards with 33s as you are with 35s (or 38s for that matter)

I didn't think so but thought i better ask? kind of a dumb question. I think i will be ok with the width. but i plan on trying to get the wheelbase out to atleast 90" before to long.

I would think that the bigger tire would cause the CG to be higher, therefore increasing the roll potential in all directions.

yeah ofcourse it would but not in any significant amount...going form 33s to 35s youa re only going up 1"...not even noticeable IMO...

It would, but he has also increased his width and length, and besides, Samurai's aren't well known for rolling ;)

That 6.5 t-case will work fine off road. but you might not get out of second gear with the 4.10's on the road

Yeah i i figured the on road driving would suck but it's going to be registered off road only anyways.
