I just chucked a set of 31" Big O AT's off my Cherokee. I replaced them with BFG AT's and I like them a lot better. I did get about 60,000 miles out of the Big O's however but the ride on them blew. Never did balance right and on a 31" tire I thought that was unusual. The BFG's just feel a lot better on the road to me.

atually, my big o's feel like they're out of ballance too but I thought it might just be that they weren't balanced right when the po had them mounted or a weight fell off or something but they might just not balance that good. never had a problem with the bfgs

I ran the BFG's on my wife's DD GC but was really unimpressed with them, especially after approx 50% tread since they were so damn loud. Regular balancing, PSI, or rotations never made a difference. When we replaced them we went with the new Goodyear Wrangler AT with the kevlar reinforcment and we love them. Traction in rain, snow or dirt (never had them in mud) has been phonomenal and they are the quietest tires I have ever experienced. I was shocked at how well they performed last winter in the snow and ice. They have nearly 40K miles on them and I'm sure the tread is still pretty close to 65-75%. I would whole heartedly recommend these tires.

lol have you SEEN what those look like after about a year... wow.. POS :) Im sure you knew that tho!!!!!! They look totally sweet new tho, do they come in Bias ply? rofl

But nobody has them! Giving you that  look you're after...

..Seriously, BFG AT's seems to be the most common with everyone else posting in this thread and they all seem to have personal experience. To me, that's a done deal....

.....She went with me to EJS in my sidekick and I talked a lot about various rides, various reasons for wanting several different rides. I had been talking a lot about wanting a Grand Cherokee 4.0 for awhile, and I found one I got a STEAL on, but she really wanted to get out of her car so she bought it, it has BFG at's on it bout 20% left, ive ran em before and I love em, reason for the poll

In short, she will be driving it as a DD and maybe flat towing ( few times a year ) my butt to moab if things develop as they have been. I plan on getting another GC for myself, Ive owned a few jeeps before, and I just don't want them for a dedicated trail rig. I do love the on road handling, and so on so on. ..........

For REAL? You plan to tow something with a 4.0L Grand? That's one of the funniest things I've ever read.:rofl::rofl:

We've got 135K on a 4.0L ZJ and are quite happy with it but I'd NEVER tow over 2000 lbs with it. It can barely get out of it's own way how it is, let alone towing something.

Oh, and to stay on subject, I'm not a BigO tire fan at all. I'm into round tires and the few sets of Big O tires I've acquired (through a vehicle purchase) have totally sucked as far as balancing and driveability. There's no problem with their warranty but I'd rather have a pleasant driving experience.

I'm pretty sure I've NEVER had BFGs (other than Radial T/As) but I would and have considered them.

BFG. No offense to Big O but I will never buy anything from them. The only thing I will have them do for me is fix a tire with a nail in it. I had some tires on my first truck I ever owned that had a warranty. When after a year the tread on the tires was horrible. I took them into them and they said you must be abusing them doing burnouts and stuff like that. Well that was not true because my little 4 cylinder could not do a worthy burn out and I drove five miles to work each day. But whatever I would go for the BFG over the Big-O tire.

Hmmmm.....Don't tow anything with a Grand with a 4.0l. They're slow.

Tow a Grand with a XJ.....apparently this makes them go faster than they can on their own.

I can attest to not towing with a GC... we had to rescue my BIL's 4runner a few years ago.. The trailer through us around at 55mph+

I've never feared more for my life than i did that day...

Even my Sidekick? its 2500 lbs... I know ive towed much more than that with an XJ, about 4200.

Just a part time deal, few times a year.
