I am prepping for an upcoming trip to Moab, this will be my Jeep's Maiden Voyage.. I have seen various places to put the CB antenna, Ive even seen it mounted on the front bumpers, where have you mounted them or seen them mounted on TJs?

Mine is mounted on my back door. When I took off the rear brake light there is 2 bolts that go into the door. I took a piece of angle iron, drilled the required holes and bolted it up. Works pretty good, plus it was really cheap to do.

I like them off the back end as well. Like 97wrangler or of of the back tail light. Basically the same thing. Piece of angle using the mounting bolt of the light.

I bought the bracket from TeraFlex. To me it was a no brainer to spend the $30. All I had to do was remove the left taillight. It took my 10 minutes to install.

Just choose the side you want it on.

I purchased the left side and it has been great. My antenae is a little higher than my hardtop so when I go under trees it will sometimes make my antenae flip back and hit my hardtop. No big deal.

I drilled a hole into the tire carrier and installed the antenna there... but if had to do it again i would recommend the teraflex option... its a great way to install it and not have a permanent mark on the jeep...

I quite like the teraflex ones as well. I met a guy down in moab one year that had one on each side. He had his antenna on one side and a medium ish sized reverse light mounted on the other side

Alright, so for those of you that have taken the Teraflex antena mount option, does the light still sit flush with the body? If it doesn't, how do you address the issue?

It spaces the light out the thickness of the bracket, 3/16". Nothing noticeable.

ok, now moving on to the next question: where do you mount your cb's? I was thinking passenger side right next to the console, it would be just under the glovebox.

Opinions?

If you got pics, lets see them. BTW if it makes a diff, I don't remember but its a Cobra CB. Its the smaller model, a 19-dx III if that helps...

I have mine mounted next to the console on the passenger side. The only thing I don't like about the location is that the passenger seat hits the radio everytime I move it forward for a rear passenger.
