Does a TJ really not have a fuel filter? I haven't spent a bunch of time under it looking fr one, but Checker and Autozone both claim it doesn't have one. A vehicle without a fuel filter??? :ugh:

Correct me if i am wrong but the reg and filter are all one and sit on top of the tank...

Napa shows this:

They call it a "fuel pump strainer".

Has anyone ever bothered to replace it? Fuel filters are a maintenance item, and should be replaced periodically, but I don't really want to drop the tank for something that may not even need to be replaced.

A little late to chime in but, i did mine 4 months ago there is 2 filters at the bottom of the pump assembly on inside and on on the outside in the bottom that hooks to the pump pickup. its a pain in the #(* to get the one on the inside but its possible. there really not filters there more like really small screens.
