Jeep TJ/LJ cooling upgrade.

Today I took my old cooling fan and clutch out of my LJ and removed the fan. I replaced it with a 10 blade fan from a 91 Ford Explorer. The bolt holes needed to be enlarged one step on a step bit. other then that it installed easy.

I use to run between 205 and 210 degrees. Today I was running 195-200 degrees.

Only 20 bucks! I had to replace my radiator so I went to an all aluminum that works great but why not...thanks for sharing

Ok now that the summer heat is starting to climb I still have a problem... yesterday when it was 89 degrees out and I was driving home on I-15 doing 70-75 with the AC running I looked at my gauge and the temp was 230 degrees! I shut the AC off and it dropped slowly to 224 and stayed there...

Once I got off the freeway and down to slower speed the temps dropped down to 210 pretty quickly and stayed between 200-210.
Seems that I have an air flow issue at higher speeds. I have a hood vent that I need to install which I am sure will help but what else has everyone done to bring the temps down at speed?

Which fan are you running? You have any air trapped in the coolant system? Old oil? I can't say I've had this problem with my jeep but I have had this issue with other vehicles with those first three questions being the reason why
