Hey everyone,

I want to put a tow kit on my YJ. Right now it doesn't look like it has anything on it at all. Where do I even begin?
Anyone know of a good kit to buy/good place to buy one?

Thanks,

mh

why??? Wranglers suck at towing even the lightest loads...to answer your question you need to buy/fab a hitch, then wire in the lights.

Kill two birds with one stone. A good rear bumper will have a reciever in it.....

if you're talking about towing something WITH the YJ, get a good will drawn up, maybe a decent cage, and go for it.

If you mean a way to TOW the YJ, which is preferable to dying horribly in an ugly Jeep ( and I LIKE Jeeps heheh), Currie makes something, and I think I saw a towbar kit in JC Whitney's latest Jeep catalog, which is miraculously appearing at my house again for some reason.

I wouldn't tow anything bigger than a large cooler with a YJ. Or a CJ either. Samurai.... any of that little stuff. :D

Dont listen to them, I towed my trailer loaded to about 2500lbs, accross 4 states and 2 countries, with 2 kids, a wife and a dog, a total of 3335 miles form Anchorage Alaska to Ogden Utah in a TJ on 35's (that weighs in with suspension, gear, winche, etc at 3500). Other than passing a couple of mountains that made my TJ grunt a little to get up and over.

It wasnt that bad of a pull other than being in the slow lane ALOT.

All I did was before I moved I went to one of our trailer supply stores and baught a reciever hitch for it, ran me around 180$. Got some trailer wirng there for like 15$ and took my ampmeter to work out the color coded wires.
