I have not heard anything about a toy or food drive yet this year. Rather than just having a small drive with my club, we wanted to be part of a bigger group. Doesn't Wild Yoats put a big one on each year?

If not lets organize one through RME for Primary Childrens or the Food Bank or any other organization in need.....

news? opinions? ideas?

Good idea. Too bad RME's couldn't drive their buggies down State St. to Primarys and do a little show there for the kids. What do RME LEO's think about that? Could we do it with a police escort?

i want to say that the U4 was going to jump on board with someone, or vice versa... there should be one coming up for christmas... if i find out more, i'll post up. we should get 100 rigs together and have a police escort... that'd get some media.. ;)

Johnny Lange is organizing his annual Shriners Toy Safari, its a great event and has a killer turnout each year. He doesn't have dates nailed down as of this morning, but here is his last update:

Johnny said:
Folks, as you may or may not know, for many years I have organized a "Toy Safari" to benefit children in Utah. We started out as a "4x4 Toy Safari" and over the past couple of years, I have expanded this to include all aspects of car and truck clubs around the Salt Lake area to participate in.

Our first few "Safaris" were to benefit Primary Childrens Hospital, but over the last 3 or 4 years, we have been assisting SHRINERS HOSPITAL and they have been extremely thankful.

I would like to continue to carry this out this year for Shriners Hospital children.

STAY TUNED HERE FOR THE DATE ANNOUCEMENT COMING VERY SOON.

So, if you wish to GIVE TO THE CHILDREN as we have done before, then I welcome any CAR & TRUCK enthusiast to take part in the event that has been so successfull in the past.

WHAT IS THE TOY SAFARI?
The Toy Safari is a charity event. Basically, you purchase a few simple NEW items (toys, childrens personals, etc,). We then meet at LIberty Park and "Safari" or caravan to the hospital to give the gifts to the children.

PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION.

There is also a group (Jeep-SLC) that does an annual Turkey & Canned Food Drive, I'm soliciting the details for that one right now.
