I have a few elockers that have been lying around for awhile. I have two actuator motors that are in great working condition, I have cleaned up, and will be reassembling. The challenge will be to get the other two cleaned up and working. While I was doing this, I thought I'd take pictures, talk about some of the differences and things I have learned. Please add or correct any information. These actuators are for standard and high pinion 8" diffs. I have come across two different versions. Looking at the two of these side by side, you can see a few differences. My opinion would be that Toyota made some improvements. From the outside they look the same to me, other than I have noticed that the gear on the one I believe to be the "newer" version is a bit wider. Inside is where you can see more. The "older" version has the two springs, the center shaft (bigger diameter) with a plug / cap on the end, coarser gears, and the electric motor is slightly different. So the "newer" improved version has the wider gear, one spring on the shaft, and finer gears.
