Toyota Bed Options

So I've got a 1983 Toyota pickup. It's got a super rusted bed. I want to do a flat bed buT don't weld or can't afford to pay someone right now. I was wondering if there is a reason i can't do the whole bed out of wood. I am a framing contractor and can do the whole bed with quality. I realize it won't last as long as metal one. Is this the only reason or are there more I should know about. Maybe someone has a bed to sell me or trade my framing for some welding.

I know where there is a bed that you should be able to snag for cheap.. It's probably slated for the scrap yard soon, so it'll be cheap.. Like.. a dirty 30 or some other type of box loaded with beer.

Do you have a longbed or a short bed?

The flat bed came off of an 85-89 pickup.. So a little modification might be in order.. But not much. The bed is in Draper. Call Rob for more answers: 550-61 nine three
