Well I got some more done tonight, dual cases are in and floor is cut for the shifters, then I decided to start tearing down the front end so I can put in the new third and longfields. Oh and I now have 2 sets of stock birfs if anyone needs some.

Dual Transfer Case

im kind of curious... so you buy the little addapter from like marlins or Trail Gear and then you have to find another transfer case to bolt on also. where do you find them they seem like they would be being used on vehicles and if some people are running two or three wouldnt they be harder to find?? all in all i think its worth it but im currently an unemployed bum:rofl: but some day i want to do it:D

Yeah, it's really tall, I hope these springs settle alot.:D If not I'll pull a leaf or 2 out. Right now the frame is at 30", way over legal height. As far as the t-cases, I bought TG's adapter and found a second case and put it together myself.

i'm guessing they will settle. i figure i have ~6" total lift with 39s on my 4runner. it sits at 29" to the frame. Assuming you really have 5" springs and haven't added shackle lift.

nice build. should treat you well!

Got some more done the past couple nights. Got my third member in. Got both knuckles back on with all new bearings, seals, felts, etc and slid in the new 30 spline longfields. Then got both spindles back on with new seals and backing plate eliminator. All in all it wasn't as bad as I thought.

heh, I'm gonna be doing the same thing on my rig in a coupla days. I'm adding 30 spliners and replacing a vented rotor.

Nice build. I'd take the bed off, 'cause it'll just create more problems than it'll solve. Tube it!

Thanks guys, it's come along way the last couple months and it should be driveable by tuesday, not done, but driveable. And I plan on taking 10-12 inches out of the bed.:D

Gettin There

Well, I got my rotors after work today so the front axle is completely reassembled and mostly stripped to bare metal so I can weld on my axle truss and diff armor. Also got my transfer case e-brake mounted. Now I am just waiting for six states for my rear driveshaft then it will be driveable. Any suggestions for a front shaft? Should I just shell out the cash for a totally new one or should i have one built using the front shaft I already have?

It Moves!!!

Well, I finally got my driveshaft back from six states today and threw it in as soon as I got home. All I have to say is DAMN, this thing goes slow in double low range. But of course I forgot that we had only tacked the rear spring perches in place so after one run down the driveway it twisted up the rear end pretty good:D but I am just stoked to have it moving under its own power. Still need to get it back to my buddies house to weld the rear spring perches, mount front and rear shocks, mount my tacoma seats and bob the bed. But she's getting soooo close. I can't wait to get this thing on the trail!!

square shaft. You'll never break it, and if you have an auto locker in the front you will never be driving fast in four wheel drive anyways so their really is no need for a balanced front drive shaft.

Yeah, I just checked. With your detroit(or lockrite, it doesn't matter) you will not ever want to drive fast in four wheel drive. If you do drive fast, make sure you have good insurance, a will and repented of all your sins!
