So i'm trying to get some v6 toy 5.29's and everyone says there on backorder intell the end of this month so how reliable (sp) are the companys with giving out times when the gears will be out. I ordered front and rear sets with install kits last friday. I'm hoping there right with the gears coming out the end of this month. I just need to get the gears and put them and the spools in and i can go wheeling.

my question is: How and or why did all the different gear makers run out all at the same time? Say company A has a production cycle of 6 months and company b that sells more gears has one of 3 months, not to mention all the other smaller gear makers.... I am baffeled how they all can be out at the same time. I can see maybe a gap of a few weeks before production catches up again.....but 2 months?

The guy at Inchworm just called me back he was suppost to call Yukon and see how long it was going to be they told him maybe up to 3 months. He had some richmand gears for like $220 i think inless you want 4 cyl he had presisions for like $180.

Dose any local shops have a set of V6 5.29's???

I would say that I wouldn't worry about waiting for the v6 gear. The strenght difference between the v6 and the 4cyl gear is practically nothing. If you get a quality gear like yukon you should never break. There would have to be some serious sh%# going on in your diff to break anything.

These type of backorders happen from time to time and there is no sort of conspiracy behind it.

Consider yourself lucky. Reverse rotation 5.29's (for a HP Toy 3rd) have been on backorder industry-wide since last November. Of course, thats a damn long time, but what can ya do but wait?

As for the V6 5.29's, I would just run a good quality 4 cyl. gear. I beat the piss outta my rear set running 35's and 38's for years including 2 seasons of UROC.
