Traded in the '98...

...on a one ton 2003 Dodge 4 Door shortbed with the Cummins & 6 speed manual.

With the purchase of the Jetta, we didn't need to have her daily-driver 4Runner and my '98 Dodge tow rig, so we consolidated them into one rig that can comfortably haul 4/5 people and still tow a trailer & rig. We traded in both vehicles towards the '03 & I was actually pleased with what the dealer paid us. I hate trading in vehicles because you usually get bent over in the end. We got what I paid for my Dodge & more than payoff for her 4Runner, so we did alright. The payment on the new Dodge is less than we were paying for both vehicles and the insurance will be less, so it made sense.

The new truck has 70k miles and has some great options; leather, cruise, power everything (including pedals!!), heated seats, etc. It also has a bed-liner, a Mag-Hytec diff cover in the rear, 3 gauges and get this... 5" exhaust. That's a bit much, the truck isn't chipped or anything. It sounds good, but I wouldn't have gone that big. The funny thing is that this thing is my wifes... and my car is the Jetta. :ugh:

Anyway, here she is. Oh yeah.... and I got a trailer today too. It's been a long day.

It really needs a leveling kit and a set of 285's. I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled for a set of H2 take-offs with good tread. :greg:

Thats exactly what I want! only no leather.

I've never been a fan of leveling kits mainly because the truck tends to sit low in the back once it's loaded up. that dirty diaper look has never grown on me.

Looks pretty...I want one....and your Jetta too! Oh, and your wipers appear to be stuck up a bit :brett:

You can't have 'em!

The leather seats have a suede in the center where you back rests, so no sticky shirt feel! Plus, with the current dog & kids in the future, leather only made sense.

I want the leveling kit just so you don't mistake the truck for a 2WD. It sits way low, it's a drastic difference between this one & my stock height '98. A set of 285's will help, but that front end just looks sad. If I could find a 1.5" spacer for the front I'd be happy.

They do grow on ya. No reason for that much lift & huge tires, IMO. I'll save that stuff for the rockcrawler. Thanks!!

If you do chip it talk to Wayne, he just gave me a price on a chip for mine that made me go  :D

Well... it is kinda boaring to drive, compared to my Edge Comp'd '98. The dealer drove my truck & came back saying... 'Man, that thing runs GOOD!!!'. I set the adjuster on 3 of 5, knowing he was going to take it out.:rofl: Mabey I'll see what Wayne can do. :hickey:

It looks alot like my 2004 Ram 2500 gasser. I have a 2" level in the front and the H2 BFGs and they fit great! They rub a little with the wheel cranked but that almost never happens. You will love the heated seats come winter. Mine get my rear end all tosty with in a few block of the house :)

Greg, I just read your post over on DTR. One of my coworkers had the same problem a week ago on his 03. You just have to replace the WW motor under the cowl. His was only a couple hundy. The park module is internally sealed in the motor assembly.

Nice truck BTW, I will run the body parts off of my 03 before I even consider getting rid of it!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I went to the Dodge dealer today & they have to order it. They run around $160, I may try a local wrecking yard first.

We're quite pleased so far, besides the wiper issue. I've been real easy with the throttle & RPM's and the overhead computer has been reading around 23-24 MPG.

Eh, 2" leveler, 315 BFG's, muffler delete, and an Edge will make you forget about good MPG's!!!!!! (I still get 17-19 hand calculated with this setup)

:D I'm thinking 2" level, 285's, keep the 5" exhaust and mabey an Edge Juice with Attitude (this truck is SLOW compared to the '98). If anything my mileage ought to be better!
