Kinda fun to get on the trail again. Seems to work quite well. Still a couple of 'bugs', but nothing super serious.

That was a long time ago....

Was Prichett dry finally?

Yeah, I traveled back in time. (I don't think the camera has been used for quite some time and it reset itself to it's default?---my 10 year old took the pics)

There was some icy spots, but not in anywhere critical. That trail has changed dramatically over the years. The spot just below rocker knocker is quite interesting nowadays. Rocker Knocker has an extra ledge, but still the EXACT same line as before and Rockpile is probably 2 feet higher now (didn't make that one). Yellow hill is NASTY, but the old lines still work, they're just smaller, now. People have just started throttling up the sheer rock face from the bottom of the wash.

I also ran into Timpanogos and son as I hobbled along the highway back from BFE turnoff. Good to meet you guys!

What bugs do you have left? How'd it run and work overall? Still have a functioning front locker? :D

Yeah, that front locker seems to be working well. I'll probably need a new 35 spline outer. Running it on the highway back from Pritchett and to Poison Spider and back didn't seem to help it out much. I haven't taken it apart yet, though. Hopefully it just fragged the spindle bearing?

I'll pull it apart when I get home.

I smoked a fused lead to my cooling fan. Easy fix, but smelled pretty serious for a minute. I lost my gas cap. That made the day kinda fun. I used 'duct tape' (the adhesive and gasoline aren't good friends) as a cap. It would last about an hour or so until it needed to be changed.

That stupid little Jeep climbs fairly impressively. The 350 TBI is quite adaquete. Not super bitchin' but definitely not lacking for power. I'm quite happy with the rig overall. Definitely needs some finishing, but for it's second 'hard' trail, it did pretty good. Feels remarkably similar to my XJ (same wheelbase (101") and probably track width) and so I'm quite comfortable in it.

I'm not sure how I feel about the SX tires. They're definitely not bad, but kinda like my SSR's, tend to 'slide' left and right more than other tires I've used. I think I'll stick to them for a while, though (I just got another set, so I'll have to) and they work quite well and are definitely durable.

I'll probably have a couple pics from today after some La Hacienda. Catch you cats later. :D

What did you do? Whack your hub on a rock?

It's a Yukon and it's 'slightly' big at the spindle bearing (about .010"). The passenger side is fine, but the drivers side is a little big. Oh, and there are some wounds on the Mt. Logan drive flanges. They're fairly easy to hit on things (ran them along a rock on Poison Spider for about 30 ft. and they're just scratched, not really even gouged--kinda 'sanded' with about 180 grit?), but I think with a little care, someone could make lockout hubs work fine.

Another cool pic. Snapped right when you wonder if you're not making it up this time and going over.....:D

We've got some video of all three attempts at Rocker Knocker if someone wants to host them. Kinda fun. (they're up to 50 meg per). All three rigs were up it in under 5 minutes.

That would suck. I love that obstacle for some reason. I never believe you have to lean that far but if you're on the right line, you lean in real interestingly and then just pop up. Pretty fun.

is the xj running toyo's? if so what are your thoughts and impression of how they worked?

I don't know if you'll find a better onroad/offroad tire for a heavy truck. I run them on my SuperDuty in the 'E' rating (I've got all of 2000 miles on them, though). The 'XJ' and the Ram are both running them. They seem to work pretty decent off road (if anything the rubber is a little firm) and are a comfortable road tire. The 'XJ' has only had his on for about 6 months or so and they're showing some wear (at least compared to my truck ones).

My son and I knocked on NotAJeeps business door about 8:00am and took him from work for the morning to do Poison Spider. We meet his lovely wife and beautiful daughters. The had to get back for the afternoon so My son and I finished GoldenSpike and out Golden Rim. Not wanting to hang out at the hotel, I was driving the Ram out to BFE to show my son where it was … low and behold, we see a crippled jeep and stop to ask if he needed some help … MBryson of all people … nice rig, and very nice to meet you!

Sunday, my son and I show at the gates of Pritchett at 8:00am, just one jeep, and ran the trial alone. Finished very early so ended up doing Hell’s Revenge, Fins and Things, and a fair portion of Porcupine (Marathon mode). Did Moab Rim this morning and headed home. Fantastic weekend.
