Now that many of you have seen the trail trailer, what would you want in addition to the stuff (already working on propane, generator, water, air) in the works?

Remember, that is must be realatively cheap, lightwieght, very durable (this trailer went up AF Canyon @ ~20-40mph), and easy to make myself or obtain the parts...

I voted for things that, IMO, would make camping funner and easier.

BBQ holder-makes it so you dont need a table or nice flat rock and it gets it off the ground and there is a specific place for it.

Garbage bag holder-how often are you looking for a good close tree to hang you garbage bag from. Also, people will always know where they can throw their garbage away at.

Jerry can holder-never hurts to have extra fuel and to have a place that will hold it nice and secure is always nice.

Food prep area-same thing as BBQ holder, it eliminates the need to have a table. It seems no matter how much table top you have you always need more, so it wouldn;t hurt to add it, and it should be a pretty easy addition.

My thoughts on the other things:
Extra Lights-you're camping, what more do you need than a lantern and a flashlight.
Entertainment center-again, you're camping and while its nice I hate it when the people camping next to me have a stereo blasting. I came to get away from that stuff and enjoy the silence. However, it is nice to kcik back and watch a movie at night in you camper:D
Roof rack-this would be my next addition to the previous four. Storage is always slim. You mentioned you had four peoples stuff, are you always gonna carry others stuff. To me it sounds like if it were jsut you and another person or maybe two you would have plenty of room.
Shower setup-showers are nice but unless you plan to regularly do week+ long trips I would say its not really needed. (I know once some females start to vote this will gain in popularity:p)

I would add onboard propane for lighting, BBQ and for a propane fridge should you ever get one.

Also, I would have a specific place for a groover, that can be hosed out from an arms distance.

Just my 1/50 of a dollar.

or, buy a scrambler :D :D

All of them look good.

Back to the premise for the trailer: what are you hauling in there that you can't fit in the back (2 peeps)?

Isn't the main reason for 4 peeps, long trip into backcountry/multi night camp?
(maybe I need to re-read orginal thread)

So: rack, fuel, bbq/prep add ons (those are lightweight), shower for the honey.

Mebbe I need a trail trailer...scrambler is full! Need to go on some trips so I can find out if I need one...

Not my gig, plus the entire idea of the trailer.. is not having to load/unload everytime I go camping, every time I am at the camp site and everytime I want to take a couple of freinds in the Cruiser with me...

Three chics and I... ;)

That and so I'm not constantly loading/unloading.. trailer stays stocked with goods (including some non-perishable food)

Ya see, you do need one... I have been camping a half-dozen times already.. and have a half-dozen more planned in the next couple months... Its nice to just hitch up and go... :D

Any idea what it weighs? How tough a trail could the trailer handle? Could it do Pritchett? Rubicon?

The trailer itself can handle anything, massive frame, and lightweight body make it fairly burley... it caught air a bunch rallying over bumps and it didn't phase it the least bit. The limiting factor is the contents of the trailer... we lost some sodas in the cooler...

As far as trails, it (with me pulling it) could easily handle the Rubicon, Pritchett may be a little difficult as you don't get alot of backups... Really the idea is to make a base camp, lock up the trailer and go play (as I did up AF) it worked really well.

Weight... probably right around 400lbs empty, mabey 700 (or more) loaded. I do want to hit a scale next time.. I had 4 people and the loaded trailer haulin' down the highway @ 75mph... :D

Cool. The base camp thing works great for most places, but trails like the Rubicon you really need to be able to tow it through the trail.

That's why we bought the property in God's country and put a tt to on it until we get a cabin. It was pretty cool watching my boys and their cousins build the first floor of a tree house over the weekend in the perfect tree. (been up there about 8-10 times this season)

I do like the hitch and go idea. It's arguable that for a couple years, there were enough drinks and non-perishable food stuffs nestled in the various corners of the freak that we could go out for weeks at a time and never want for hunger.

Cool trailer.
