mine did the same thing think they are a bias ply tire.
put radials on mine the seam fine now.

I just lost my first one on the way down to St. George. I've got the 8 lug axles and likely different tires than you guys though?

The "ST" in the size means they are trailer tires.

And 1995ZJ, when you do replace the tires the "D" rated ones will be a great improvement.

Yeah, I'm debating between D and E rated ones. D will cost $83 each and E are $98 each....is that extra $15 a tire worth it? The ones I was looking at are Carlisle Radial Trail.

Yeah, I got it at the same time, I was hoping someone else that did the same deal would chime in. I'm definitely due for new tires, so I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to have the trailer aligned at the same time so the new ones don't start wearing shitty.

Yeah, what is your trailer rated for? On Paiute's site the 7k# trailers use a 205 "C" and the 10k# use a 225 "D".


I was thinking I'll just upgrade to some D rated tires, but I'd also have to go with a larger tire since I can't find a "D" in a 205, only a 225.. I don't think I'd have any issues fitting them though.

I forget the name, but the number is 801-972-1105, close to 9th west, 21st south. They've done 3 trailers for me and always do a good job. I was blowing tires like crazy on an enclosed I had after they aligned it the problems went away. My boat trailer was wearing tires like crazy and again, they fixed it. Well worth the money.

I had the same problem with my 18' car hauler. When the tires wore out (about 2 months) I put radials on it and they still looked new after 2 years when I sold the trailer.

I like to have at least a 10% (would rather have 15%) margin on tires. Look at the weight ratings for the exact tire and size you are thinking about. (the load range really means what ply rating they have and the actual max load will be different for the different tires and different sizes of the same tire within that range) It looks like you know the weight of the trailer and cargo pretty well. I would add up all the weights and ratings and get the tire that is rated for 10%-15% more than the load.
