trailer brakes not working.

Ok, so my brakes were working on the trailer on Saturday. Today my brake controller is saying nc for no connection. The lights still come on, but the brakes are not engaging. I tried to unplug and plug back in the connection, still says nc.

You might want to check the ground on the trailer brakes themselves, there should be two wires coming out of the backing plate one for brake power one for the ground.

Thanks. I will take a look at the ground on the brakes themselves. I forgot there were grounds back there.

Make sure you have a ground wire in your plug as well (not just relying on the trailer ball for ground)

Also check the wires at the axle ends. I've had mine break there.

x2 If you don't have a ground through the connector, the ground on the trailer will be intermittent...
