Trailer ID?

I must have overpaid... $200. :D I was happy to get it for that, need to haul some yard waste real bad and no longer have a truck for that stuff. Even at $200, I'm happy with the purchase, it's been very helpful so far.

I put new trailer lights on it, then re-wired the lights and also added some used BFGoodrich Long Trail 245's on the original (?) 16" wheels. It tows great, I was hauling a small block Chevy yesterday thru the canyons of CO at 78-79 MPH and you hardly knew the trailer was back there. I love the size of it, it's just big enough, yet not too big.

I had thought about making it an expedition trailer and I still might, but it's pretty weak. Like you said, strengthen the tongue... speaking of which, mine is slightly bent upwards. I got it like that, but obviously the trailer had hauled too much weight at some point. I'm kind of to the point that mine may be too rattly to build for expedition use. I may just keep it for yard work & parts hauling and build a expedition trailer from the ground up with new parts.

Yea I hear ya on the ratty part. They are rare though, from what I've found so far. My frame is very sound, but the sides around the bottom are rusted, almost beyond repair. You would really have to replace all that sheet metal. I'll prob just do the same as you, haul yard stuff. Might use it to cary camping gear and bikes on family trips locally.

Does yours have the diamond plate floor? Looks original on mine, but floor may have beeen replaced.

Yeah, my floor is diamond plate. There's a good deal of flaky rust underneath mine and a few of the welds inside the box have cracked, making the sides floppy. The tailgate closes, but the holes to latch it don't line up. You need to pull the sides in to 'latch' the tailgate.

I'm still unsure if I'll fix those problems or just keep running it as-is. :D

Finally have some pics of the trailer. Has newly rebuilt hubs, axle u-bolts, and lights. Planned future; build sub-frame with triangulated tongue, Axle with 5 on 4.5 pattern, wheels from my 5.9L ZJ, and some 265x75x16 tires.
