my neighbors are heading down to moab.. and called and asked what trails to do.. they have dirt bikes/ 4 wheelers/ sideby sides, but want to rent jeeps one day..

they have done poison spider, hells, and fins last year.. and those where all i had to suggest

looking for about the same difficulty .. not to hard but not to extreme.

i have no experiance with 75% of moabs trails and i dont think rentals in bfe is a good idea

It's a rental. Get good insurance and take it anywhere you think it might could go, and then some.

Real answer: Cliffhanger, Moab Rim, Gold Bar Rim, Golden Spike... finish the trifecta if they have time. There's that one trail south of town that has White Knuckle Hill...

behind the rocks..

i think rim and cliffhanger would both be hard for unexperianced drivers with no lockers

I know the guys I have gone with that rented have got a list that has some off-limit trails, I believe Metal Masher was off limits (even though I think it's do-able in a rental). Flat Iron Mesa has become one of my favorite trails, it's about the same difficulty as the ones you listed. Steel bender is good also.

Ive rented rubi's three different times, most trails that besides the scenic ones are off limits, but Ive looked the rigs over good, and made sure a u-joint or suspension link isnt about to pop, then take them wherever anyway, you put your insurance on them when you take it off the lot, you dont want to pitch one over, Imagine what your insurance co might do to your premiums. all three times I had a good experiece, told them where I took it and they told me to come back. Farabees, and cliff hanger.

Steel Bender is looonngggg. There's one or two good spots and a whole lot of bouncy road.

a lot of trails are off limits for the rental jeeps. we rented one for my parents at a place that told us hell's is off limits right as we were signing for it... i said i wouldn't rent it if hell's is off-limits so he told me to just run the trail and not sweat it.

so one of their tour drivers sees us on hell's, the manager calls us and yells at my dad and says they are going to charge us $1,000 for going on a restricted trail. we go back to the rental place and the guy claims he never gave us permission even though we had three witnesses. they said they were going to charge us and we said bring it on, we'll fight it. they never charged us but i would still not suggest it because it was a pain to deal with them and it really messed up our trip.

Always check for trail stipulations. My friend rented one when we were down there from farbees and they said only Kane creek was off limits at the time we were there cause of floods. Later that trip they rolled in on potato salad hill.

thats what i thought before too.. after the first time i did it.. but then i did it last week and it was fun.

Ive only done steel bender once, about 3 weeks ago, and it was just the straight shot portion, not the loop, but it has that big 4'+ ledge drop if your driving it towards kens lake. you think thats ok in a rental jeep for a newbie? Maybe im just a wuss but i was scared to death

I broke a front upper control arm mount off my last TJ on that drop, but I did pick the ugliest part of the hill to drop off. I've seen rental Jeeps there before, but not sure the companies will cover damage there, even with a damage waiver.

i don't think a newbie should run still without an experienced guided and driver. Also there are a lot of spurs offs so unless you know the trail you could get lost.

dont go to "moab adventure" or what ever its called, i had a buddy go there and ended up gettting his insurance charged 2k for new tires, even though there wasnt a scratch on the car nor were the tired damaged when he was done. i believe he is still in a lawsuit with them

Not sure what trail this is, but it looks fun. I'm sure it's on the approved list.
