3 Jerry Can's enough for the whole ride?

That was plenty for us, but we filled up in Hanksville. It depends on lots of things though, like your mpg, driving style, side trips you take, and fuel capacity to begin with. I only needed an extra 5 gallons, but I'm getting 20 mpg with an 18 gal tank.
