Truck shakes when turning ?

I have a problem with my old 85 1 ton chevy 4x4, when I am turning when going fast on the freeway I get a shake in the front end that feels like a tire out of balance. I notice it most in a canyon like Parleys. I just replaced all of the kingpin bushings and springs and rotated the tires. The death wobble I was getting is gone but the shake is still there. It does just fine in a straight line, any ideas ?

check the wheel u joints on the shafts i had a bad one on my xj an it gave kind of a jumping feeling in turns

They were replaced a year or so ago when I went through the axle trying to fix the original shake and wobble. The shake I feel is like a wheel balancing issue not so much a binding problem. I rotated the tires hoping that would help me determine if I had a wheel problem but it made no difference.

how old are the shocks.the tire could be losing contact with the pavement while in a turn .fell the outer edges of the tire and see if you are getting scalloped tires.

The right front tire that I moved to the rear did have some scalloping on the outer edge, I thought it was due to the kingpin bushing being a bit loose on that side. I'll check the shock when I get home.

tie rod ends and drag link ends? The dodges do something similar when they start to get wear. Also, I'd look at alignment (take it to a shop), I had the shakes like that with my tape measure alignment on my TJ and when I got it aligned properly it was gone.

I checked the tie rod ends and drag links and they seem fine for the most part. The pitman arm drag link has a bit of wear but it isn't that bad. I'll have to check alignment to make sure. I checked the shock on the side that had tire wear and it is in good shape.

a friend of mine had a older chevy burb and he had a death wobble and found out that his wheel was bent... he almost replaced everything on the front end before someone looked at the wheel....

My expedition does the same thing in corners at speed... but only when I turned to the right... ended up being the shock loose...
