Truck shopping... extended cab or 4 door?

I'm kind of toying around with the idea of selling the Tacoma & getting a Toyota Tundra. I need more room & the Tundra can tow most anything I'll need to pull. I really want a 4 door truck, but I currently don't need a 4door. In a few years the 4 door would definatley come in handy with kids in the picture. So... should I just pony up for the 4 door?

Anyone bought an ext. cab & wish they had a 4 door? I felt like that when I had my Dodge with the Quad Cab.

Sounds like you answered your own question to me. 4 door just makes too much sense to me.

The obvious answer would be the quad cab.. Just do it!

That's how I feel, if I'm going to spend the money I might as well get what I really want. I dig the 4 doors, ext cabs don't look as good IMO. I'll probably hang onto this truck for a long time, drive it till the wheels fall off kinda-thing.

Anyone intrested in a '01 Tacoma? :D

I don't recall the year on your old one, but my Ferd SC isn't bad at all. Both sides open for easy loading, and the lil ones (4yo and 6yo) love riding in the back seat. One added bonus, they're close enough to me back there when they start giving me grief I can just reach back and smack em! :D

The two bigest reasons I went with the SC was that it fits in my garage, and is a little friendlier when trying to fit it into a parking stall.

My Dodge was a '99, both doors opened as well. It was ok for those little people, but adults didn't fit back there very comfortably. I'd bet the Tundra is even tighter than the Dodge was.

That is slightly annoying with the crew (and the F*rd) is parking. It ain't a small truck, but the more I've gotten used to the size and the 'sweep' to get into tighter places, the more I've enjoyed peoples reaction as I exaggerate turnins........

Used to work with a guy with an extended cab (rear suicide door style) and it wasn't bad getting 5 guys in it to go to lunch. There was plenty of room to unload and load the back seat. It was an '03 so I don't know what the differences are to the new ones. I wouldn't dismiss it unless you really need acres of space back there.

I do like the vertical sliding rear window and according to Toyota's web site it is only on the double cab.













oh and I'll give Greg 3 years before he trades it ;) :rofl: :rofl:
