i was wondering what kind of tubing benders anyone had. did they work like advertized. i was looking at getting one for myself and wanted any input on this subject. thanks
What do you have in mind? Bending cages and such? Mine works as advertized, but was much slower and more man-power than I had expected. Also it was more accurate than expected.
I purchased the degree ring, and honstly have never trusted it, and have not really used it yet. Now that I know I should have held off at that purchase.
I got the degree ring too, and have also never used it. I have the JD2 manual bender. It works great. It does take a lot of work, I may convert it to hydraulic.
man i have the pro tools bender like rusted, with the degree ring as well and it works wonders for me... Its not perfect but you just have to figure out how much backoff it has. Like any bender. even the high tech ones have settings for that.
I made mine and it works great. It uses the air/hydraulic engine hoist ram. It is a little slow but I have the time. I got the plans fron gottrikes and it uses pro-tools 105 dies. It was easy to make and was a good project for my welding class I took. Here are some links:
