well i thought i had everything figured out here...poison spyder customs had all the stuff i needed, untill i called and found out its on back order for 2 weeks. the only place that will inspect my jeep down here that dont care about the lift..wants me to fix my tie rods (the one that needs fixed is welded in)...so i figure i might as well do a new drag link. cuz thats where the bad tie rod is.

anyway i use a normal 93ish tie rod on my pitman arm...(22mm)
now i cant find anyone besides poison spyder that carries a 22mm threaded rod end insert. any ideas..i've google my lil fingers off.

you know you can just have larger tubing threaded. Badlands or Guymons can do it. I had Summit Machine thread a piece of tubing and send me rod ends for steering on a Toyota. Did excellent work and it was pretty reasonable.

summit machine had 21 and 23 mm ones...though i have no idea what they fit..i went through my parts reference book and couldnt find anything that used them that was close to what i have. they said the taps were like over a hundred bucks so it wasnt worth gettin one.

i kinda thought more peeps would be on the 22 mm band wagon with wranglers since you can use the tie rod end and it fits right in the taper on the pitman arm...plus its about the same size as the 7/8 chev stuff that is usually recomended

Yeah sorry, I have never heard of a 22mm TRE yet. WE have taps for 21mm, 23mm, and 24mm for the different Toyotas and Jeep WJ TRE's.

If you want to do 7/8-18 I can get you some TRE's for a decent price.

its strange how they did things..on the 91-95 wranglers they used the heavier 22mm on the LH outer and the smaller 11/16ths on the pitman arm.

97-04 wrangers were swapped with the larger one on the pitman arm

cherokees and comanches 91-01 it looks like they swapped them around putting the heavier one on the pitman arm

grand cheroke and grand wagoneer 93-08 looks like the ran the 22mm on both

at any rate...any model can use the stronger 22mm tie rod in the pitman arm listed above with out mods to pitman arm and have the strength of a 7/8 tie rod.

normally poison spider customs carries the 22mm tube adapter along with the tre tie rod as well..they were just out and i needed to get this done so
i bought a tap for 53 bucks and will just drill and tap the dom.
