U4 Fall trail ride: PINNACLE Canyon report!!

We had a lot of tire up action, are share of carnage, and a lot of fun. One lesson I learned this year and last after watching and helping a long bed truck both years, just get totaled is we need to add a new restriction requiring good break over angles. This trail has got to be my favorite.

It IS my new favorite trail. That just kicked ass and didn't stop, I can't wait to come back and do it again. Thanks a ton, Scott, for developing that trail and for inviting us down!!!

Your club kicks ass as much as your trails, we appreciated them staying late and keeping the chili hot.

The very first obstacles is the Gate (has a bypass) the next is the Can Opener ( has a bypass) 3rd is Marriage because from here on out there are no bypasses so... you are committed 4th has no name yet, this is the one that has three very different lines, last year almost every one went to the far left, this year most every one went to the far right, and almost no one ever tries the center. The 5th has no name, the 6th is were you make the tight turn around the big rock on your left, the big Ford lost a head light on that rock, its called the Squeeeeze. The rest are too small for real names.

Names for 4th obstacle:
Pushstrap
Saddle
Rockers

If anyone has pics of my scrambler (brown, floppy fenders) please send them to maverick4x4@gmail.com

Thanks,
Brett

I wish I would have ran Pinnacle instead of diff hanger :( But it was probably for the best....

I know you would like this trail. The couple times I've wheeled with you I can tell its right up your alley. But there's always next time.

i think we should call it Tripod, because there are 3 ways to choose from and the fact that alot of us were on 3 tires at one point on it.

I think I hit the end of the trail right about 5:30pm, and by the time I got back to town it was pretty much dark.

Hey Scott, I assume your leaf spring held togather pretty good the rest of the day. Did it loosen up much by the end of the day?

EZ

That was fun trying to keep up with you on the way back to town EZ. :D
Awesome trail and a good group to wheel with, I'd like to do it again before next November.

That was a BLAST!!! :D That was the best trail ride that I have ever been on period! Great rigs, good drivers, no big egos, no whiners, lots of carnage, but no huge waits. Did I say no whiners? And one great trail!
I have almost 2 hours of video of everyone in the group. I'll get it posted up in a day or three. :ugh: Lots of pics too.
It was also nice to put faces to all the user names. Ez, jinx, greatscott, maveric, I had a great time. :greg:

Hahaha!! The Ford guy was stopped in that intersection wondering what way to go...I saw you and someone else (maybe it was NotAJeep?) go the wrong way...I took a look at my GPS and took a right (finally my chance to get some fresh air and not follow that Ford anymore :) ; just as I was doing so I looked left and saw you two turning around. I just love baja'ing down roads like that!! You made a good effort there at the end to catch me!

yeah EZ i saw you take off all fast and when we turned the corner that was to an open area you were gone i could barely see you in the distance, me and my buddy were just like "wow he is haulin' ass". those road are fun but being on low pressure, discoed and 4 coils i couldnt go to fast without scaring myself haha. i thought, i just made it through that damn trial with no damage, im not going to be the dumbass who rolls on the road back to town. good times

ez, mav, it was cool to have so many cj-8s on the trail.

scott thanks for putting on the event and all the work you do to keep things open everywhere,

Richblaze, better luck next time, thanks for your cool attitude in a bad situation.

Notajeep, sweet ride and I was way impressed on how fast you put that burfield back together.

Matt, black TJ, good to meet you, good driving. ;)

pkrfctr, tim, thanks for all of your help in getting rich off the trail, we couldn't have done it with out you. I love all of the toys you have on that rig. :D

waynexj, you have a way of making tough obstacles look easy. ;)

I have to smile because with most of you guys it was my first time wheeling with you but on the trail, the way everyone chipped in to help everone else if felt like we had been wheeling together for years.

THANKS GUYS for the awesome trip,

side note: It was around 9:00pm when I had the scrambler on the trailer and the truck hit pavement. :greg:
