Under cover fuzz

So that covers having a vehicle painted like a police car ~ like any other debadged, surplus police cruiser i've ever seen on the road.. There's TONS of them around..

It was the 'lights and badge' part that was mentioned that gets things more interesting. Obviously there are laws against having red/blue lights...

Side note, saw an undercover 01-04 Duramax the other day. Blacked out, lifted about 4"....never would've guessed it was a cop until I saw the lights and watched him pull some one over. I've also seen Prius' a few times too.

Did it have mudflaps? -_-

Undercover 4Runner

We had an undercover 4runner here in Logan for awhile. Althought there are an incredible amount of undercover vehicles here this particular one caused quite a stir. I'm not sure the exact details, but the idea behind it pissed a LOT of people off and I haven't really seen it since  I wish I could elaborate a little more but I'll have to search around for specifics.

Undercover vehicles are fine by me but the Charger with "bling bling" 20's on it that cruises around here REALLY bothers me--who bought the wheels? Hope it wasn't us... :-\

In the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area, Johnny Law would use any car they confiscated from drug dudes as undercover traffic cars or even marked cars. Same deal with the DEA.

I stopped to fill up the other day and saw a tan 4 runner with behind the glass police lights going. It would appear that he had pulled someone over. I looked closer and it was unmarked, laptop inside etc. UHP officer in full uniform was driving. I have never seen undercover cops in import cars before. Has anyone ever seen this before? I was with my little sister and she said she saw a toyota prius pulling someone over the other day? I can't vouch for it but I guess its possible. I always am on alert for cops cause I drive like a jerk ass and am usually speeding so this is all strange to me I pride myself on being able to spot undercover and regular cops in traffic but this is throwing me through a loop.
D

I would have to pull over from laughing hysterically if a cop in Prius wanted to pull me over. At least you know they won’t be involved in any high speed chases.

The fed's just got a bunch of Ford Focus' that Obama bought them... What a waste of money! My wife's current 05? Jeep Liberty will be retired with 43k miles on it to make way for her new Focus. I can see pulling older rigs, like one of their spare Blazers with 130k miles on it, but the Liberty is still a good car for a few more years at least. They are very dilligent on the maintenance... Just another waste of money that Obama is getting famous for.

It's do as I say and not as I do.

What about the tint? I know they sit in cars for long periods of time and many other excuses but that is how I know they are cops is for the tint. Why can they tint windows dark and not us?

I watched two highway patrol cops go into the median on the freeway from my rearview when I had to slow down quick cause of some slow and go traffic. They were following to close to each other and were tailgaiting me. Next thing they new they were driving defensively and had to pull all the way off the road to avoid causing a massive pileup. I love cops and what they do for us but sometimes I wish I had some authority to tell them a thing or two.

Like the HP that pulled me over at 75, he was stopped and it was at night and all he could say was mudflaps is what I needed. Bull. No way he could see that at dark.

Funny thing I was followed by a tan Ford explorer just this morning, dark tint was a dead giveaway. When we pulled up to a stop I smiled at him as if to say "I saw you." He smiled back.

I saw a late 90s early 00s tan Toyota Camery pull over a WRX on 215 in SLC 2 years ago. I also saw a brandy new Mustang, white with blue racing stripes going tip to tail over the hood a bit further south on 215. Little buggers are sneaky.

I personally feel lucky for never have been caught by an unmarked. There are times when I do go a little.fast but i always have a keen eye out for the cops, so far I have been able to recognise the unmarked cars as I come up on them before I pass them. As far as ones thats I have seen, I have seen an unmarked charcoal gray Dodge Charger in Mapleton, and a charcoal gray Toyota camry on I15. Probably a few others but they aren't coming to mind as far as make/model.
