...I do think UROC has seen what every other living being has seen, XRRA is way more fun to watch...

I guess I'm not the average Joe because to me this is a step in the direction of boredom. Much the same as they ruined mud bogs in the late 80's by making the "mud" out of dirty water and having everyone hydroplane across it.

UROC died when they started playing early 90's club music and jock jams and employing ex-wwf wrestlers to do the announcing (nothing personal). I love competitive rockcrawling but how many times can you say..

Who rocks? UROC

It got old, fast. Hopefully the changes will bring good things. I miss the early days of uroc.

I haven't used that much in over 2 year! But it stuck in your brain! LOL

I lost interest when the comp when to man made courses and no more spotters on the end of a rope. Spence was the best with some of his facial expresions while he was tugginf the old XJ around.
When Uroc was in its first years is when it was a blast. I will pay to see good old boys wheel there junk for a good cause again.

I for one am pretty bummed. I am not really fan of UROC. At all actually. However anything that that hands a whole bunch of bad energy to our sport (like a series ending forever) is a hit that has an impact on us all. Ranch, good luck in the rockcross game.

It does not work with the general public to watch Rock Crawling. I am so gonna get flamed for that statement.

When 5 rigs are running on different courses at once. You do not get a chance to see everything. Also when the announcer is talking about you know who, there's what's his name (fill in with drivers name) on course b3, and so and so on course a5. The general fan doesn't have a clue as to what they are talking about.

I have thought that SXOR had it best when they tried their series. You knew who was winning all the time. You didn't have to wait days, yes days, for some website to announce who the winner was.

This is a evolution of the sport of Rock-crawling. Some may not like it, but there will be way more new fans to fill in. It is true entertainment for the masses. Someone stated that Ranch is going to make this like monster truck racing, you ever been to these, the stadium is pretty full, for drivers paid to show up and put on a show. I am in no way a fan of this "monster truck" idea. I think UROC has made some huge mistakes in the past. I am no expert, but I do sponsor a few teams, and I want my name in front of as many people that it can be.

The only way this sport will grow like drivers want it, with large sponsors, is to get it in front of way more people. I do not know the actual numbers, but I spotted for Rhett at the SLC UROC event last July. I would guess there might have been 2000 spectators total their. My wife and I went to the XRRA event in Cedar City last year also. Their was at least 2+ times as many spectators at that event, in a small town, way outside of town with no amenities for fans. You add it up.

That's my .02 cents. I'll step off my soapbox now.

I can dig it, Mike, and I agree with you. The deal at RMR was neat to watch, but also VERY difficult to watch, due to multiple vehicles running at once. And yeah, there were people there, but nowhere near enough to support the costs of running all of that, all the time.

So we'll see I guess. The underground is still putting out plenty of videos of people getting their crawl on. :D

Maybe Mike’s monthly trail could morph a couple of the months into an amateur contest to supply some of Tacoma’s underground movies?

Oh I totally get that sheeple need fast paced action with quick numbers (why is football popular again?). Putting "racing" on the end of anything is a sure fired way to make more money and makes good business sense.

As for the "boring" aspects of traditional rock crawling, I could give two shits who's wining, I'm there to watch the crawling... if someone is boring me I'll go to another obstacle and find my entertainment, and if they are all boring I'll drive my junk up an obstacle in my head.
