They both suck, get Dish.

Dish?? :ugh: I had Dish for 2 years and always had problems with it going out when bad weather came and the customer service sucked. So I switched to Direct TV I have had it for almost 4 years. Never had a problem and as a added bonus I get NFL Sunday ticket.:greg:

I never had a problem with the reception of Dish (can't say the same for Direct TV though) but I will agree that their customer service is the biggest waste of time EVER! :D

one more thing i should add about comcast limited basic, it is not digital, so the reception can be a little bad. but the local channels come in verry clear. thats a change from the old antenna.
that's not cause it's not digital, thats the quality of your lines. In my old house my lines were all brand new (less than 5 yrs old) this included the lines coming to my house (new neighborhood) and I had perfect reception at all times (like cable should be).

most of the lines in the neighborhood are above ground and i am sure they have been there for 20 years. all the lines in the house are new in the last 2 years. but i am happy with what i have. i can now watch the news without wondering if the reporter is Mechelle king or bill gephardt.

Got it and it sucks. They said it was HD, it's not. The installer did the absolute worst job of routing the cable I've ever seen. First. Instead of drilling a simple hole and going outside through the wall of the room the TV was in, the installer decided to rout the cable to the ceiling, down the door frame, under the door, up the doorframe, along the hall, throught the top of another door in such a way the door cannot be closed, across the ceiling and through the window with a window strip, then it continues across the wall (diagonally) to the antenna on the front of the house. On top of all this, the x box, stereo reciever, and dvd player are on the right side of the TV and the freaking installer put the USDTV reciever on the left side and didn't give enough slack to move the reciever to the right! A call to customer service did nothing so it's up to me to install the cable right. However instead of that I'm just going to rip it out and we're cancelling the subscription.
I've seen the cabling job, and it is a joke. Bar none the absolute worst thing I have ever seen a "professional" installer do. The HD channels are watered down with a lot of artifacts, only marginally better than regular broadcast channels. The sound is underwhelming too. I think a lot is compromised to work with the limited bandwidth available via an aerial antenna. Personally I'd stick with Comcast's HD/DVR service at $60 a month rather than sacrifice so much audio/video quality to save a buck.
