New they are like $225, it has killed a rattlesnake and a cougar in the mountains of Durango, Mexico. We have a mine in Mexico and the cougar was killing the villager's burros and the rattlie snake (nearly 10' long) just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rattle snake is tasty with fresh ground tortillas and refried beans. Eight shots to take out the cougar. Aah, the good ole days.

We used to keep this gun in my dad's airplane.

I would like to get $125 for it if anyone is interested.

I'm with you on this one. The AR7 is a neat gun, and very tempting because of the compactness. But, I know the 10/22 is a better gun and what I really want. So at $125 I'm only $75 away from what I'm shooting for, so I think I'll just save that coin.

Tempting you all

Here are some shots of it. Let me know if anyone wants to come look at it and or shoot it. I may throw it on KSL because now I just take my Glock with me back packing. I just barely put the scratch on the muzzle trying to oil it up. The threaded collar did it. Damn. I tried to get a picture of it.

Look how nice and snug it fits into the butt.

You want it don't you.

I just bought my wife a 10/22 for christmas off KSL. I found a great deal on one in incredible shape w/ the factory wood stock and a tactical stock w/ pistol grip and folding stock. It came with both stocks, a riser scope mount (so you can still use the sights w/ a scope), a cleaning kit, 2 25 round banana mags, and 40 rounds for $200! I sanded down the wood stock and stained it pink-ish for her. I'll prob buy myself one and put the sweet tactical stock on it. :) I'll get pics up after the Christmas reveal!

"Glooting".. nice.

Glooting. I like that . And I know a bunch of guys that are waaaaay into "glooting". Heck, I'm past it now, but even I've been guilty - some of my rifles that were built during my "glooting" period take the concept to levels not even hinted at in this thread. Like the one with the stock that has a mural air brushed on it of a fire breathing dragon burning down a prairie dog town :greg:.

And I'd no idea 10/22's had gotten so expensive. I paid $79 for my first one, at Gallenson's when they used to be on State street. Then I got one for free, that a guy just got frustrated with and threw (literally, THREW) in the back of my truck and left it there (true story...). When I found it there a week later and called him to tell him I had it he said to do whatever I wanted with the blankety-blank beepity-beep piece of blankety-blank. So I still have it, a dozen years later now .
