Farmington Canyon Road Repair Work Begins

FARMINGTON CANYON ROAD REPAIR WORK TO BEGIN

Salt Lake City, Utah, September 6, 2012 – Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads, (ERFO) funding has been received for the Farmington Canyon road. With funds in-place repair work to preserve the wood retaining walls on the downhill side of the road should begin within the next week or so. The next phase is to stabilize the landslide on the uphill side of the road which is anticipated to begin the first part of Octoberand should be completed mid to late November, weather permitting.

The Farmington Canyon road will remain closed to all uses during construction. The Farmington Canyon road closure starts at the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Forest boundary runs east along the Farmington Canyon road (Forest Service road #80007) to the Bountiful Peak Campground.

The road has been cleared now for some time but not stabilized. I know they are shooting for a November opening date. That will be nice to have it open again.
