Utah vehicle inspection

Any body know a 4x4 friendly inpection station near Midvale? I am tying to get ready for the big event so I can get Utah plates.

the guy was curious about my 460 swap and suspension. there are two chevy guys and one ford guy there, i got the ford guy. he has a 96 f250 and says he is building a 89ish bronco. he told my i was foolish to put leafs on my SAS so he will probably like yours

he will check your horn lights, defroster, etc

I don't remeber your tires sticking out like mine, you may only need mud flaps. go to the pick in pull there are plenty out there as well diffrent ways to mount them

you should be alright on bumpers headlight hight, frame height etc since i am right at the max and i don't think you are higher than me.

sorry i didn't say that they passed an illegal truck or anything. my truck is legal, just barley. and more so than a lot of trucks i see running around (just a lot more ugly) Dave just moved here from Arz, i just moved up from new mexico i know exatly what he is going through freaking out about inspection.

thanks for the advice on the edit, your right i shouldn't go posting a shop w/o permission especially if the "may have" gone "easy on my truck"

Thanks, the shop you mentioned is about 8 miles from my place. I will try them out on monday, my tag expires on tuesday.

I am not looking for a free pass here. The first place I went to told me they would not pass my Bronco, no matter what I did to it. No sh*t! He said he was afraid to loose his license to inspect vehicles. The second place I went to told me they would have to carefully inspect my suspension and check for illigal steering alterations. Yes I have a 1978 front axle on my 1993 Bronco. I just want an even playing field.

Would you bet on that? I know for a fact they are. Direct quotes from this and other boards are used by them all the time to justify their position. But some people don't seem to care that they're giving the enemy all the necessary ammunition to kill us off.

As for your inspection dilemma, once you find an inspection shop that does your vehicle you might consider filing a complaint about the one that refused to even look at it. Places like that shouldn't be allowed to stay in the business of doing inspections.
