Actually no, the ISP's are the limiting factor... as far as the network is concerned you get 100Mb to your house.
no their not...having worked extensively with Utopia over the last month getting ours straightened out I asked them this exact question. It's broken down to those three services and the internet is given the smallest amount. As a business you can get more bandwidth but it starts getting ridiculously expensive.

This is currently how it is, but they say it could change in the future.

This sounds right, as UTOPIA should have no way of knowing if you are using 50mb of video/tele....
 are you serious...watching traffic is the easiest thing in the world to do and you can very easily tell what's using what. Not only can you tell completely different services such as voice vs. data, but you can see exactly which machine/node is using different amounts.

So anyway I been seeing the workers laying the fiber  over by the mall. So hopefully soon I can tell comcast to blow me. ;) Wonder how long it takes them to do a whole city? Layton is pretty big.

Layton City has joined a consortium of Utah cities engaged in deploying and operating a fiber optic network, referred to as Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency (UTOPIA). Eventually this infrastructure will be available to every business and household in Layton City. The work is commencing on Monday, 30 April 2007 and will continue until the entire city has this service. Below is a map showing the current area UTOPIA is being deployed. For other questions or concerns about UTOPIA please call 1-888-342-3748 or visit their web site at:
www.utopianet.org.

I wish I had access... I can only get T1, Comcast, dial up or Verizon's air card in my laptop...Which really sucks, becuase I hate Comcast!! Although I haven't had any problems the past 8 months I've had it.... 'knock on wood'

Government crap
But 10 Mbps is better then the stupid comcast I got, As well as the idiot that installed my cable (yeah its messed up) AND bummed a smoke off me. :ugh:

I work for an electrician as his data tech... and you wouldn't believe how much work comes my way cause of comcast... people will spend the big bucks to have me come in and run the cables the right way instead of giving comcast their money to drill holes in their exterior walls... and lately I have noticed that the guys doing directv and dishnetwork are doing the same things... I go thru a 1000 foot box of cable a week... so keep up the great work comcast!!!

Oh yeah and i don't smoke so no bummin of smokes!!!

I found the person to ask about info/complain to so I left a message asking for more info with a callback. I'll relay any info for us west-o-main Layton dwellers as soon as I have that info :D
