We are not doing our usual Uinta week long camping trip this year. We are planning a weekend but not a 7 day stay. Our family is not going to be able to make it this year so me and the wife have been talking about trying something new.

So what have you done that is fun. Where do you like to vacation and what do you do while you are there, lay on the beach, fish, boat, drink or whatever? Put in your ideas, hell go ahead and throw in places you would like to go and things you would like to do. Maybe this thread will help everyone find some new places to travel and new things to try.

WDW Orlando, FL.... Disney Land is hella-ghetto. WDW is the #1 thing I miss about my sentence in FL.

That would be killer. do that. Head over through Reno, up through Lassen National Park, over to the coast and then up HW 1.

If you could get sea kayaks I've heard the San Juans islands are awesome.

Glacier Park and on over to the Black Hills to see the GOOD presidents on the mountain. I have been told that it is a great trip.

We're thinking about doing that one this year, or going through Glacier and up into Waterton in Canada.

I'd also really like to see Banff one of these years.

I love the Oregon Coast. For budget, but still pretty nice, you can stay in the yurts along the coast. The ones in Beverly Beach are just on the other side of the highway in the trees, then you have a walking path under the highway right on to the beach. You are also only 5 mins drive to Eugene. There is also a nice aquarium nearby (Where Free Willy used to be).

We've also stayed in the yurts at Nehalem Bay there on the coast of Oregon. They were pretty much right on the beach. You're pretty close to Tillamook (gotta get some cheese ) and Cannon Beach.

You need to reserver now to get the yurts though. (If they are even available)

For awesome vacations, we loved Grand Cayman. You need to stay on the opposite side of the island from where the cruise ships come in though. It's got good snorkling and awesome beaches/water. If you want to just relax and kick back, grand Cayman is perfect. Oh, even though it's a tourist trap, you gotta go swim with the sea rays

We also love Hawaii. Not Oahu though. You need to go to Kauai. Stay on the north side of the island near Princeville. Total relaxation. We'd drive around and find little off the beaten path beaches. We found one that you had to climb down a ~100' cliff. So worth it. No one else, amazing snorkling, and perfect sand.

If you want to party/drink, then Cancun is hard to beat for cheap but still enjoyable. Everywhere you go, you will have alcohol dumped down your throat (literally). Even if you tell them you don't drink I haven't been there since before the hurricane hit several years ago, but it was fun when we went.

This is the trip we did last year on the Harleys. Spent two nights at Hot August Nights in Reno, then onto the coast and up the 101 through the redwoods and such. Awesome trip, one of the nicest I've ever taken.

This is an awesome idea. The Pacific North West is one of my favorite areas. Seattle, the San Juan's, Victoria. Absolutely beautiful! And the PCH in that area is stellar.

If you want a very walkable place with lots of good food and wine, Portland Oregon is a great place to visit. Downtown is very compact with lots of museums and great restaurants. It's public transit is top notch as well with light rail from the airport all the way into downtown and street cars in the inner core.

Headed there in 24 days! Taking the rig to do some wheeling while there. Should be a good time. I will report back.

I think you mean hwy 101?? But I agree with this trip....such an awesome drive, and the Oregon coast is beautiful!

If you want warmer weather, I love Puerto Vallarta! One of the safer cities in Mexico, tons to do, fairly inexpensive, and really family friendly, depending on where you stay! I recommend La Jolla De Mismaloya. It's a 15 minute bus ride south of town in it's own little bay in the small town of Mismaloya. Lots to do at the hotel and surrounding area, and the bus ride into town has some sweet views, and if you're lucky a local mariachi (sp?) band will jump on the bus and give a mini concert until you get to town!

We are going up through wyoming to a place called encampment then accross through montana and through glacier, then over to the coast and down the coast though washington, oregon, california and back to utah. should take about 2 weeks, but will be fun. Done it before when I was a kid and it was awesome. I will never forget the giant trees. If you have never seen those I would recommend it.

Anywhere in the pacific northwest will be awesome this time of year, We used to own a condo in Victoria it was the most amazing island, you can ferry over or rent a float plane (so worth it!) Go whale watching or to http://www.butchartgardens.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 This place is insane! I know a guy who rents harleys there too, its awesome to get up early ride the bike to the ferry, ferry over to Vancover while having breakfast and coffee on the bow of the ferry rolling through the islands and the early morning fog.....Then ride up to whistler for lunch go for a tram ride or hike, then do it all in reverse

Victoria is amazing. We ditched the truck and headed over via ferry with just backpacks for a couple of days. One of the mostest awesomest places I've been.

Victoria is definately one of the best vacations I ever took. So much too do that I can't wait to go back.

Running Route 66 is something I have always wanted to do for fun. Stay at a B&B or two along the way.

Drive up thru Alberta and see the Ice glaciers and Lake Louise.

Run the Silverton Narrow Gage Rail Road and B&B it on both ends.

Okay we were wanting to head out Thursday June 3rd and go til Sunday. We got thinking about going to Lake Powell and taking our wave runners. I wish I had a boat it would probably be more fun that way. I would like to camp somewhere not in a reserve campground maybe even on a beach. Would it be possible to do with wave runners. Have any of you done this and if you don't mind me asking where did you camp etc. I have never been there so I am a little nervous to just take off and hope for the best. Advice??
