We've run the wasatch back one about 5 times. We've won the mixed division about 5 times. For some reason Weber State and BYU's mens teams often like to beat our mixed team of 6 girls and 6 guys by about an hour.

Nice! We definitely won't be winning, or even coming close, but it's definitely fun! I have an old truck bed camper that we throw on my truck and all pile into! It's so nice to be able to take a nap on a bed or take a #2 while driving down the road after you're done with your leg! Last year we had many people come running up to our camper in a panic....."Do you have a bathroom in there? Can I use it? Pleeeeease???!!!" Mostly women who forgot to use the potty before their van left the hotel! haha!

that's pretty nice. We always want to take our normal camp trailer but they don't allow them because of the traffic and guardsman pass. That would definitely be nice to have though. I'm not a reason for the winning. I am by far the slowest on the team but the rest of the team makes up for me since they all average sub 6 minutes and some upper 5s. I'm more like an upper 6 lower 7 and I am very happy with that. It would be nice to have a camper to sleep in after. We always have to pile right back in the excursion and get everyone home to work at the running store. Ha. And I'm always driving. It sucks having to drive home an hour after no sleep and all that running. I never remember the drive\ home at all.

I'm one of the slower guys on my team probably at about 10 minute miles. The other guys are around 7-9 minute miles. Anybody wanna join us?

Hey, would you want to run on our team in Vegas? We just had a couple guys drop out!

I might be interested if you have an opening you need to fill. I ran 7:30 average on the red rock relay, and just did the Utah Half Marathon on Saturday at 7:54 pace. I'm not sure if that would make me fast or slow on your team, but I'm sure I could contribute. We finished in seventh place in the red rock relay.

Hmmmmm, I'll talk it over with my wife. We'd have to find someone to watch our son. Would you want my wife to run also? I'm sure she's faster than anyone else on the team, including myslef. She smokes me.

the guy in charge of my team might have found a couple guys to fill the places but he told me that he'll know for sure by the weekend. I'll let you know!

hey Cascadia, we do have 2 spots available if you're interested! Or if you're not able to, anybody else is welcome! We have places to stay lined up for really cheap and we'll all split gas. Let me know if you'd like to asap so that we can put the word out other places if you can't make it! It's gonna be a blast! The 2 spots that opened up are in the camper! Makes it soooo nice!

If Cascadia doesn't want to, I probably can, and I might be able to fill the other spot too, with a guy a little faster than me.

Due to the lack of response, I'm assuming that Cascadia is out. RockMonkey? What do you say? There will be some payment involved for the ragnar itself and we're going to split up gas and lodging. If you're interested I can get you a break-down. We found super cheap lodging and gas won't be too bad. The group that we've got is a blast to hang out with! It's pretty much a 2 day party w/ some running involved every few hours! haha

ok I have a break down here if anybody is interested. We have 2 slots open and none of us want to run more than our own 3 legs so I've tried to make this really affordable!

Ragnar: We all paid $150 each but we'd be willing to pitch in and get the 2 slots filled at $100 each (your cost)

Gas: I will be spending about $350 in gas to drive the truck w/ the camper on it down including driving around the race. I'm only asking that $200 get covered by the other 5 guys in our van (camper) so that means $40 each. I think that's pretty fair. Last year the guys on our team said they'd gladly pay an extra $100 to have the camper at every ragnar. You are not allowed to bring RV's so most people rent vans or have 4 door trucks. People drool over my camper as we cruise by well rested w/ running water and a bathroom!

Lodging: I have a timeshare and we are using it for the lodging. We have (2) 2 bedroom condos which sleep 6 people each (3) queen beds. One might have a room w/ 2 twin beds instead of a queen. It is costing us $35 per night per couple. If it's you and a buddy, that means $35 per night for the both of you. ($17.50 each) We are leaving Thursday and I am planning on staying until Monday, as well as a few of the other couples. Some are leaving on Sunday. If my wife doesn't come, I'll probably leave Sunday as well. So if you stay all 4 nights, that's only $70 per person total! ($140 per couple)

totals: (per person)
Ragnar: $100
Gas: $40
Room: $70 (4 nights)

That's $210 for the whole weekend per person. Not bad. (obviously you'll need to buy food and such) We're not drinkers but we like to be rowdy when appropriate! We had a ton of fun last year and it'll be the same this year!

I may have some space in my truck for a ride down and back. That'll save you even more $$! Maybe buy me a couple sodas for the trip and we'll call it good as far as that goes.

Again, we don't want to run more than our own legs so YOU SHOULD COME! Let me know if you have any questions!

That's probably more money than I can justify since I'd be leaving the wife home alone to deal with the kids.
