I am planning on taking my wife to vegas for our anniversary. Just wondering what sorts of new things there are to see around there.
She has never been, and I have not been in 6 years or so.
What should we go see and do?

The answer to your question depends on one thing: how much money you have to spend. So let's start there.
How much money do you have to spend down there?

I liked Ceasars Palace where the statues come to life (free) my wife and I spent alot of time there wandering around.

The gondola (sp?) rides were fun if you get an operator that gets into the role and has fun with it. They also have those weirdo human statue things at the Venetian.

I still want to see the Pirate ship thing at Treasure Island.

My wife and I spent very little money the last time we went mostly wandered around, and had a great time :greg:

Ride the roller coaster at New York, New York/ Ride the rides at the Stratosphere/ then just visit all the free stuff.

The buffet at the Bellagio is incredible, but it is about $50 per person.

Your wife would probably like the outlet malls.

If you haven't done the Jousting at the castle that would be a fun evening.
new york roller coaster for sure.
Don't know if the blue men are still there, but that was a good show.

When I go, my friends and I always go see the display at the Bellagio (in between the casino and the shops) it's always fun and absolutely phenomenal what they can do with plants etc. and it changes from season to season so I would recommend that. Then you might want to head down to the new hotel-- the Wynn-- it's really pretty inside and out and they have a Ferarri dealership near their casino too.... if you like to look at cars that are pricey ;).... We always have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops at Caeser's Palace ( I recommend the chicken madeira :)), and if the weather is warm enough, you could get a gelato and watch the fountains at the Bellagio. (that's always my favorite)..... so maybe we're a boring bunch, but besides all that, we just shop, swim, and take random video footage.... :ugh: well, at least WE have fun! ;)

Oh... and if you want an AWESOME room, I'd recommend a room at the Venetian- their standard rooms are really super nice (you can get a virtual tour on their website)

I'll second the Venitian....I stayed in their biggest suite (hurts the wallet, but fun.) DEFINATELY a nice room and the hotel is just cool.

For food . . . go to the Bellagio buffet. They have a staff of 40-something cheffs preparing the meals. But go right at the end of lunch. That way, you pay lunch rates, but after being there 10 minutes they bring out the dinner items (beef wellington, crab legs, etc . . .).

For fun . . . go to the Hilton for the Star Trek Experience!!! They have a ride, and a rull sized replica of Quark's bar! It's just a dream. But be sure to wear a costume, or else the Klingons at the bar will make fun of you.
