Reviving old thread because today went to crap in a hand basket in hurry.
And it was sorta self inflicted and I just want to vent.
Finally got the motor swap in the new 4x van done, last night, all buttons buttoned, and zippers zipped.
Excited as a 16 year old kid with first car on my way to work today (has been a year since I have had a toy 4x, or a 4x van, 2.8 cherokee's and xploder's are no substitute).
Hit I84, and notice the temp gauge climbing a tad higher than I was comfortable with. So I remembered to remember the flexalite, and that solved that. Drove on 3 miles further, maybe 4 ,and noticed the gauge had quit decreasing and was off the frigging scale.
WTF?
So, I pulled over, all looked normal, and smelt normal, and felt normal, fired him back up, and started like new, ran like new, and about 1.5 miles later as I was getting off the freeway and calling for a tow, just put this motor in mind you, that familiar "you're a dumbass and you just cooked your Toyota" bottom end rattle came through quite audibly.
Turns out the Barrs stop leak that plugged the radiator hole ( only planned on temp fix for a week, todays check will be like $85) decided to take today from doing its job, and the radiator pissed out all its fluid.
Pulled the radiator to get fixed, cooled off no rattles, I thought maybe, Toy's are tuff lil' critters, but the compression test showed 180-#1, ( got excited) 85-#2, 75-#3, and 175-#4.
Soiunds like BHG to me.
I would cuss alot, but bannishment doesn't sound fun.......
