I know its probably worthless but..

The trekker I just bought didnt have a title, Is there anyway to find out last registered owner info to try to get a title before I do all the paperwork with the DMV? I got a run around story from the guy I bought it from so he was no help. anyone?

If you can tow it down to the DMV they will go out and verify the VIN and run a check, if you dont tow it down you get the forms from the DMV and have a cop come to your house to verfy the VIN. The DMV will not tell you who the privious owner was or is, so if there is a lien on it or im not sure of the cut off date but if its too new you will still need a title from the previous owner, your in for some work to get the title from an owner that you cant search. Dame privicy laws.........some times they work against you.

just hope it hasn't passed through too many hands before it got to you. I bought a 4 wheeler from a friend once, without a title, thinking that a bill of sale would be fine. Turned out it had been passed through 5 people including my friend without someone registering and changing the title. Talk about a pain in the butt. After 3 trips to the DMV to find out if I had found the last registered owner, the lady looked at me and said NO but then slid me a small piece of paper on the sly. I grabbed the paper and walked out to find a name on it. I contacted the person and asked if they had owned the four wheeler. He said yes but it had been 4 years. He signed a lost title and bill of sale for me.
