The Pro Mod class is growing fast, infact, rumor has it even Shannon Campbell is tearing apart the moonbuggy and building a super advanced Pro Mod to drive in Cedar.....

4 classes of vehicles running across 12 obstacles, should create lots of action and fun for the whole family

We hope to see all of our old freinds for Utah once again:cool:

whoo heading down tommorow!! can't wait to see what yall bring to the table! never been to a full blown competition so this should be great!!

Ok I let me give a quick run down on the weekend.
Clay and I with some help from some friends headed down to cedar city to run our first rock crawl in over a year. We ran xrra and rock cross last year and had a good time with it, but missed some old school crawling...

anyways, Friday was tech and catching up with old friends, Cedar City is a cool event site. Man the pro mod class has a ton of people in it these days. :)

Saturday after Drivers meeting we found ourselves lined up behind Nicole Johnson, Nick Campbell, (shannons brother) with Troy Bailey and Tracy Jordan behind us. First obstacle we walked away with an 11 not bad but most people were below ten. Second obstacle, was handiing everyone 40s, We took a chance on the bonus line and made it. Finished the course with a min or so left on the clock and a 5!

So with most teams in the 50s we went to the third course with a 16, a couple of big climbs with a straight down, no biggie we were going to skip the bonus get a 0 and move on for the day. The first climb was about 14 ft off camber vert. We made it up pretty easy but came over the top funny caught the belly skid and slid OFF. Clay fell 14ft into a tree! Needless to say recovery was a pig and Clay was upside down for 10+ min and in the process of recovery we stripped out the steering coupler. To add joy to the moment we were upside down long enough to hydro lock all 6 cylinders.

Needless to say getting the buggy back to the pits with no steering was was a pain. ;) and we took a 40 on that course and the last one. 16 to 96 in one whoops.

This is the cool part. trying to decide what to do. I started asking around for parts. I found Dean Bulloch and Tom from psc. With a little eventiveness and a lot of help from those guys we put the steering back together at Deans house! We went from "lets go home to lets play" in a couple of hours. The rest of the stuff I could fix so we spent the rest of the evening running around for parts and such while having the buggy torn down the motel parking lot. about 10;30 we were back together. :D

Sunday 1st course we timed out and took a 39, 2nd course we were one of a few buggys that didn't roll or break and finished with a 27, 3rd course we made it through the tough stuff and had a cheesy roll while lineing up for a steep decent. another 39. Mike Judd had a first row seat to the roll and trying to getting him back over. Recovery kinda sucked over weekend...

The 4th course was mean, and we took out the rear driveline on a bounce on the first vert. the bad part was I didn't believe that was our drive line. I had to climb down 15 feet to check... pretty sweet break if you like mangle parts. :D

Anyways we finished 19th overall. not where we wanted to be but at the same time, not too bad for being out of the seen for a while.

What an awesome time. I will admit I have been one who has said rock crawling as a sport is dead. This proved me wrong.

I went down Friday to help out with the judging. What a turnout. I have never been to a We-rock event up to this point. They have a very very well organized event. It ran very smoothly.

Two thumbs up Big and Lil Rich. You guy and everyone else that helps out put on a great show.

Nick Campbell had an awesome run in the shoot-out with a front flat. He still rallied the last two climbs like nothing.

The Lovell brothers are unreal. They were the lowest score on the course I judged out of all the cars (unlimited too). Then it the shoot-out they were perfect.

For unlimited Jesse Haines was incredible. That was the first front engine moon buggy I have seen. With him at the controls and rocking the rear steer, he was the only unlimited that made the bonus line on my course. Dustin was bagging on him during the shoot-out for taking too long, but Jesse did everything he needed to to win.

Like I said, it was a great time. I will probably go back down to judge the next WE rock event back in Cedar City in five weeks.

Let me know if you've got a seat... I would love to see that! Five weeks is what... end of June. Ok then. :D

June 20-22

We will on the recovery situation. We could have used a couple of more capable recovery rigs, many times the teams crews are asked to drive into really hairy situations to do recoveries....

I will be putting out a call for recovery teams, anyone want to join the team :)

Thanks for the compliments, normally we only here the bad things people have to say :(

To Clay Egan Racing, I'm sorry about that recovery, it won't happen again....

We also had a great time and finished right behind clay in 20th. Carl Nielson put on a great show for the fans on B4 the first day with an acrobatic 1 wheel stand down the deepest bronco eating crack of the weekend. If we hadn't of broken on A3 we would have definately placed better but luckily Lee Bendall from LEE'S DRIVESHAFTS AND MORE in St. George was able to get us a replacement tcase yoke in less than 20 min. so we were able to continue. Thanks for a pair of great shafts and the Yoke. Great weekend and great event.
