Go find an old 70s era Ford and use the outer stuff on the waggy axle. On my son's axle we did the opposite, we took off the Ford stuff and put on GM stuff to match the waggy rear.

What you need are chevy 1/2ton spindles with the earlier small inner bearing race (or have a pair of the later ones turned down on the inner bearing section) and a pair of Ford 1/2ton hubs and rotors. Your brakes do not need to change. To use any more Ford parts than the hubs and rotors you need to change everything from the outer knuckle out and the chevy/waggy stuff is better for several reasons. I am not sure exactly which years had the small bearing spindles but anything from when they went with front discs to at least 76 or77 should have what you need.

yep bobdog has got it.

Run the early 70's chevy spindles, and ford bearing hubs and rotors. Keep the waggy knuckles, brakes, stubs, locking hubs, etc...

Yep just run the Ford stuff. Remember to run the Ford outer axle shafts also. They are a little different in lenght compared to the GM and Jeep stuff iirc...

some of the early chevy knuckles were flat top. If you are lucky enough to find them.

I did this on my jeepster. waggy axle, chevy flat top knuckles and spindles, ford hub and rotors, and waggy calipers. I have it loosely put together, but havent driven it yet. everything seems to fit just fine.

I've done this conversion. You'll need hubs and rotors from an 81 ford 1/2 ton bronco, They're sold together at Napa for $41/side and the chevy large bore spindles 73-79 3/4ton chevy D44. You'll then be able to use your chevy outer axle shafts, breaks and hubs without problems. I opted to swap seals and bearings because I don't reuse wear parts with new parts, but that's up to you. total cost is abut $150 if you already have the spindles, New(r) spindles will run $75-$100/side I have that converted front axle for sale if you're interested PM me.

A1 auto parts has, or used to have, half price wednesdays. go scout out what you need and come back on a wednesday. I got everything from the knuckes out for $63 (minus the calipers).
