The SLC Trib is a POS liberal newspaper. Being military, i can see the bias in it all day long.

The people in SUWA are nutjobs...they probably believe the lies they tell, not knowing they are lies. That's part of being the fringe.

As for levying heavy fines on off roaders, you guys are on crack if you think that's a good idea. 10,000$?? that would stop me from off roading in legal areas, because i'd be afraid of being targeted and ticketed by some weenie in a cop suit. I am as careful as i can be (like all of you) to be a good steward of the environment and our sport. but that step would be the one to end off roading all together.

Don't understand what i'm saying? I'm against any law that takes away our guns for example. There are plenty of wackos that don't need them. sure. but the first time a gun is banned (let's say it's any gun with more than 5 rounds in it) then that's a step for the libs to say they are legitimate in banning guns. then they'll go after another gun, and another, until there are no more.

i'm not turning this into a gun rant. just illustrating a point.

this i agree with: everyone who off-roads needs to get off their butt and get involved, get writing, etc.

All this commy attitude against us is BS! I have had enough of all the motherf*^%*n
Lies about us!

I wonder why they think we are extreme? I too have had a belly full of the lies and bad press, but this is the kind of talk/writing we need to avoid. Constructive letters and projects are the best antidote.

I spent a lot of time commenting the trib articles and never really got anywhere. I doubt the trib looks at them, or even cares, and you certainly are going to be hard pressed to change the minds of the people that are ignorant and closed minded enough to believe the lies they speak.

I think I'm going to re-direct my efforts towards sending letters in. lets see if I can get my oppinion published.

I respectfully disagree. Bigger fines would do nothing but help. The nightmare scenario you suggest is always the rebuttal from the OHV community, but it's not realistic.

But you're not against taking guns out of the hands of convicted felons. Somehow, that policy has not eroded our gun rights.

i'm with Steve on this. if something your worried about is being tagged as an illegal land user, educate yourself as to what's a legal road and what's not. Be up to date on the current land issues, and, be proactive in helping them have positive outcomes. get invloved with 4x4 clubs and organizations that work along side the government agencies in place to babysit our land.

while up at the lake up AF(brain fart, forgot the name of it) we sat and watched jeeps crossing through the water, told the rangers in the area and they were approached within minutes. lets be an asset to the BLM, and the FS rather than live with fear of being the hunted.. asset.. so let's do it.

Uhhhh, who is posting and calling people names on these? That doesn't solve any problems at all

This is the reason I stopped posting there. It all degrades to name calling. Usually the "other" side first, then our side seems to follow.

By the way when I do post a comment I am C2Hall

But you're not against taking guns out of the hands of convicted felons. Somehow said:
HUH? How did you get this from that? I'm not for felons having guns

I am against dumb@#$ in congress trying to stop .22 ammo, or stop any magazine over 5 rounds, including all banana clips, or stopping black guns which are semi auto, etc. blah blah on and on. I'm also against any law (ANY LAW) that blanket restricts land access to off roaders, because it's very hard to open land once it's closed. STeve b4 you go on to say we all should all sing happy campfire songs together, i'll tell you that i'm from a part of Oregon that has restricted off road vehicle access 100%, and dirt road vehicle access 100%, AND gravel road vehicle access most of the damn time. Guess why i don't live there anymore.
