Want to buy a set of stickies

How does a guy who has no race connections go about finding and buying a new set of sticky tires?
I think I'm leaning towards the BFG Krawlers or the Goodyear MTR's 40" X 17
Is it even possible or do I have to settle for somebodies used set.

my advice would be buy off pirate4x4 classifieds... if you follow the posts daily and search stickies, yellow label or red label you will find what you need (new, fairly new, used)... most people on there do it all time. I also have see lots of wheel/tire packages go for what the price of what just the comp tires cost new.
