that place by the river in marc's second link is bitchen. If I ever con some hapless unsuspecting girl into marrying me thats where I'll make her do it. If not, then vegas. 2 options.

There are a couple quick scans....Got tons of pics....Had Frank do them

He was very good!! I highly reccomend him!!

It is paved road all the way in and there is plenty of parking....Let me know if you have any questions.
Those pictures are awesome! I love the one in your Bronco! Arches isn't sounding so bad. Now is that $50 just to reserve the spot or just to use it? What about a port a potty, did they require you to supply one?

Have you been out to the needles overlook? Or maybe hurrah pass?
Hurrah pass is a bit of a drive. Where is the needles overlook?

I vote for the Alco parking lot.
Romantic indeed!
Nope, no one that didn't belong. It is sort of back out of view from the road/campground. The campground is all the way to the end of the Arches road, so no one goes back that far unles they are camping there. During the day the campground is almost empty, it may be busier in the evening....We did it about 2:00 in the afternoon....After it stopped raining:mad2:
When was your wedding? We're shooting for September 22nd.

 That's funny. Luckily, I conned the hapless unsuspecting guy into marriage 9 years ago so that's already taken care of. :D

Well, you could say it's taken 9 years to get to the wedding. We ran off and eloped after 2 1/2 weeks of dating and never got around to the whole wedding thing due to money, life, an unplanned baby, you know, stuff. It will be 10 years in November so we want to have the whole big wedding/party with everyone to renew our vows and celebrate the fact that we've made it this far! And I still kind of like the fawker...:D

Dead horse point is very pretty. Hopefully it isn't too hot or raining. You also have to keep in mind the "crispy" cake...you don't want it to melt or get water logged.

thats the place. redcliff lodge. Hopefully I'll remember that in the next 10-15 years

I would think that it's going to still be pretty hot in September though.......?
Hopefully by the end of the month it won't be hotter than 7 shades of hell. A nice cool drive in the old Bronco after the ceremony will always cure what ails me though!

Well fortunately for us all, the Krispy Kreme cake will be tucked in safely at the reception site! At this point, that is looking like the Sunset Grill. But that's a whole other mess, we've never eaten there, but it really seems like the best spot for a nice reception. Anyone know anything about that place?

Gemini Bridges?
Any sassy spot in particular? Now let me say that I'm not really interested in any spots where there has been some broke back mountain dirt bike riding....:handlebars:

im getting married at red cliffs lodge next year right on the river its a pretty cool little area they rent out you should check it out http://www.redcliffslodge.com

Hmmmmm, how much of a rental fee are we speaking of here????

I tried it out once and I wasn't really impressed. It was overpriced for what the food was like and the interior is quite dated. Personally, I wouldn't go back for the food. The view was about the only thing that did impress me. Oh, and they REALLY need to repave their driveway/road.

My two cents

Good to know. We like it for the location and view plus it's simple. They'll do everything and we just pay for it. There's a nice deck where the tables would be and there's also room for dancing. Now it's a bit pricey, they want $38 a head, but that does include choice of 3 appetizers, 4 entree choices, salad, rice or potato, and bread. They will also do a cash bar which I like plus that also includes set up and take down. But not tax and 18 % tip. Does that seem astronomical or about right?

I guess that price sounds about right (trying to remember what I paid.) If I recall right, I think that I spent something like $20 dollars on a prime rib dinner there......but it's been a few years. With the rest that's included, might be about right.

Anyone around here ever planned a big dinner somewhere and had to price it out?

$50 for use and reservation, no pottys, the campground has running water and flush pottys!
We did it on June 3. Figured we be safe, but it RAINED for 12 hours straight!! Something like 2" in 12 hours....Sun came out about an hour before the wedding, ground dried and it was perfect!
